Default Hi all, I'm a new member...

Just checking in, found this site because of the whistling noise in my 95 318 ti, basic model. Bought it brand new in 95 and still have it. It has been cross country a couple of times, lived through a hurricane and several other of nature's storms, still going, not real as pretty anymore because I put a rack on it for my kayak, but runs like a champ. Anyway, googled whistling noise and found this site (crank case vent valve will be confirmed shortly I hope). Over 200k of my own miles, love this car no major problems ever, now just the wearing out period to deal with, great mileage and suppose it will be a Woody Allen "Sleeper"-type vehicle that is found in a cave 1,000 years from now and starts right up! Have a great day!

Welcome to the site. Glad to hear of your good experience with you ti. These guys seem to run forever, if they are well maintained. Keeping the cooling system in good shape is the key, in my opinion. John

Default Thanks

I'll check that out too--I wondered about that, it looks like I can do the other myself since I have a 4 cylinder the valve is right up top almost.

Also make sure you have all 4 lifting pads installed.

Welcome to the Org.
Yep, the ribbed intake boot seems to crap-out on our cars. Mine was shot at 130,000. Check closely for signs of wear. It will throw a CEL if it's cracked and you put the motor under load on hills.
