How much did it cost?

Great condition, if I didn't love the hatchback so much, that would be my next choice.

Nice pick, that M3 looks good. Be careful...I've heard that red M3's attract cops...

I paid blue book value for it. It wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. I didn't want to take a chance on inheriting someone elses mess. The dealership knew that they could sell the car the same day it hit the lot, so I was only able to negotiate a couple hundred $ off there price. I did get some BMW shirts, a full synthetic oil change, 4 wheel alignment, rear shock mounts and the side skirt gasket replaced with the deal. I paid $19,200 for it, which is blue book in excellent condition, this might actually be better than excellent condition, it's new condition. Also the Dinan mods retail for over $4k, so I took that into consideration. I haven't had a single regret about buying the car, it's exactly what I wanted and that's ultimately all the matters, right?

I think people like us aspire to have a dedicated "tooling- around" car, and The ti may just be such a car; reliable, easy and fun to drive when pushed.
I just bought my wife a Mini a few months ago, in hoping that would be the driving-around car.....
Nice car, Bro......and keep us posted on the performance, and I'm curious about the Gas Mileage.

Wow, I didn't realize it was worth that much. It's all supply and demand, and the demand for that car would be high.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

It's worth it to spend more money on something that you know has been respected and well maintained. This is especially true when purchasing a car with a motor like the s52. It's not exactly a cheap motor to replace.

My ultimate goal is to go forced induction with this car (duh!). I wanted to start with the best example of an m3 I could find. I found it. If I spend another $8k on this m3 and get the TT stage 2 turbo kit I'll be pushing 400hp+ in a beautiful car. Find me something equivalent or better than a 400+hp e36 m3 for under $28k, please.

i know of a Ti with 400+ HP
Why would i want to find a 400hp for less than 28k, when we are talking about the car you bought without the 400hp? Im saying ive seen little cheaper on bfc. Ive seen SC M3s for maybe around the price you got yours for but i aint saying those are 100% healthy.

btw, this isnt an argument

Dude, the way it's been treated means everything. If DustenT can't find something wrong w/ it, then I am pretty certain it is darn near perfect. Also, It has dinan mods out the wazoo, so this car was worth every penny.

Sweet ride Dusten

True. Records are worth their weight in cash, also the knowledge that it wasn't some punk that pinned the throttle while it was cold every day.

Regular oil changes and maintenance keep costs down in the long run, where long run is 100k+ miles. Good paint is also a plus, as resprays aren't cheap, especially when done right.

So what you're paying for is peace of mind. With any car, you're going to pay either in repairs or up-front purchase price. Dusten basically made off with a new car with 80k miles for less than an actual new E36 M3.

This is exactly how I thought about the purchase too.
