Default Ever opened your door and hit the jack?

OK, call me stupid, but I dinged my driver door with the jack.
I jacked my car up with the stock jack & in the middle of my work I needed to start the car.
Flung open the door...WHAM!...nice ding on my door.

OK, maybe it wasn't really a WHAM. More like a thud, just as my brain was trying to process "hey, why did the door stop moving?"

Now I'm depressed, luckily I found a book that might help me!

Hmmm... It's probably thick enough to use like a soft hammer and pound the ding out from the inside, maybe...
bummer tho, I did the same thing but with a 2 1/5 ton floor jack, but I lucked out and there was foam on the handle. Of course then I promptly dropped the motor a good 2 or so feet into the engine bay, it definitely was a WHAM! X(

simple enough, just remove or lower the jack handle, open the door completely, replace the jack handle, then slam the door closed on the jack handle with approximately the same force that you used to open it
