State your opinion and why: 225 vs 235. Application: 1998 Ti with M pkg., street use only. Thanks! | | | 04-09-2007, 03:46 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Depends on your final drive ratio. the 235 is a nat taller than the 225. If I'm feeling like the car is a little sluggish go for the shorter tire, running out of freeway revs go taller. This of course ignores all the stuff like fit etc...... You'll get better gas mileage and in reality, unless you have a sc, you dont need 235's. I run 215's all the way around and it looks sweet, but my next set im staggering 215 front 225 back. | | | 09-08-2007, 01:20 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Latvia Posts: 17 | I'm using 205 in front and 225 in back. Narrower tire is less suspected to aquaplanning. Not a nice feature on highways during rain. | | | 09-08-2007, 09:05 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Greece Athens Posts: 302 | 215-45 is the best you can do. __________________ Alpina front lip spoiler,ACS roof spoiler,OEM clear rear-side lights,In-Pro blackchrome front indicators,Lummar tinted glasses,318ti.org decalls,Eibach Sportline 45mm/30mm springs,Bilstein Sprint shocks,16mm rear sway bar, front eccentric wishbone bushes,E46 conv. IMO, 225/40 hands down on 7.5", if you can find a tire in that size that is - not alot of companies even make 225/40 edit : check out http://www.kumhotire.ca/tires/detail...cat=7&ptn=KU31 it shows what sizes are the best fits for the width of wheel... im sure you could go outside those specs a little bit, but if your looking for practicality, its worth a look. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 09-11-2007, 03:21 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: N. You can get 245s on there, but that would be no fun too much grip, unless its supercharged or swapped, then you may need the traction. 225/45/17 would be my choice, especially since that wont mess up the speedo odometer with improper wheel size. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
