Default Changing the stock Seats and Steering Wheel?

Hi-

2 quick questions.

Was 1999 the only year the Ti came with the M wheel and which other M-wheels can you swap in? I have seen the 98-99 m3 wheel and also the e46 m steering wheels in some cars online. So i am assuming they all fit? I would like to change mine to one of the M-wheels.

Second I seen a decent set of e46 front leather seats on ebay. Which seats will fit the ti? All e36 seats? how about E46 or any others?? And are there any options to change the rears or no? I want a full leather interior. Really looking for the rare red leather I have seen on some e46 330's.

Check this thread for options. I have the airbag for the wheel in the center, let me know if you are interested.

the airbag will be your bigest problem on both counts here

the e36 compacts used a 1 stage airbag, the majority of the e46 wheels (including the mtec wheel) use a 2 stage bag.

there was/is an E46 sport wheel in exactly the same design as the sport wheel available on our model, with the same 1 stage bag.. but, the "slipring" or function collar on the 2 wheels are totally different.

so an E46 wheel will fit on an E36, but all functios will be limited or non existang (airbag being one..)

On the interior side of things, physically the seats will swap over.

But be wary of the passenger airbag sensor mat connector.

if it doesnt fit then a simple change of plug might not be good enough

the rear seats wont fit though anyway, so unless you have the same colour leather rear, its just not worth it unless your getting them recovered
