As soon as I got the package, I began reading up to page 38. Really detailed from what I can see so far. Looks like I now have good reason to pick up some new tools, lol. Glad to do business with you and ill be contacting you if any odd questions arise. Thanks again. | | | 02-24-2013, 05:17 AM | #137 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Glad it arrived OK. Enjoy the read! I'm off to Germany tomorrow, but I should have e-mail access if you have questions. | | | 02-25-2013, 11:36 PM | #138 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: SLO, CA Posts: 168 | Just sent you a Paypal payment for the manual. My 1997 328i was stolen/wrecked a couple weeks ago, and I just bought it back from the insurance company for $430. It only has 114k miles and has been meticulously maintained by our family since we bought it from SF BMW at 33k miles. My 1996 318ti will be the proud recipient of this engine... I've done a lot of swaps over the years (Sidekick into rock-crawler Samurai, Subaru Legacy engine into Vanagon, WRX into Porsche 914, etc.), so I'm not scared of this swap. But a comprehensive manual is always a welcome guide! Thanks, Geoff SLO, CA | | | 03-03-2013, 11:08 PM | #139 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Hello Geoff. I wanted to let you know I am back from Germany and processing your order right now. I did not see your note, but I can send you the wiring diagram download links. Please confirm for me the year of the ti and year and model of the donor car and I'll get those links to you tonight. Thanks again, and best of luck with your project! | | | 03-11-2013, 04:24 AM | #140 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2013 Location: New Mexico Posts: 2 | Hi Jim I am doing a full m3 swap from a 97 5speed donor into a 97 318i auto. I realize there are alot of chassis differences but wondering if electrical information I need would be covered in your manual. I made a longer post in the swaps section about my wiring concerns but since I am a noobie it is waiting for approval before it can been seen | | | 03-11-2013, 05:34 AM | #141 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: SF bay Posts: 183 | I have a 1997 M3 auto donor car, and I'm about to pick up a 1995 club sport. Using the same year ti and donor makes it as easy as possible. | | | 03-11-2013, 12:40 PM | #143 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! There are a couple ways to mak this work, and I go over the options in the manual so you can decide how you want to do it. | | | 03-22-2013, 09:48 PM | #144 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Hi Jim, you've got money coming. Just sent money via PayPal for the manual. Hoping it covers things like what stainless brake hose to get for the car. I've hot the Z3M rear trailing arms and brakes to install, hope the lines for the Z3M from UUC are the correct parts. There are plenty of other ti's out there for swapping and any number of people on this forum and other BMW forums who would love to get their hands on one and can appreciate the Clubsport for what it is- a very low production, unique factory vehicle. It's not a horsepower beast and was never intended to be. Unless the car is a total basket-case in its current condition, I'd leave it stock. That is all. __________________ 1995 318ti Base - Cosmosschwarz/Sandgrau R.I.P. 1997 318ti Active - Alpinweiß III/Sandgrau 2013 328i Coupe - Le Mans Blau | | | 04-11-2013, 03:13 PM | #147 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2013 Location: Malta Posts: 9 | hi dude, i'd like to know more on your manual, like does it cover what diffs and prop shaft is used in the swap? ecw3 or so? I have a 1995 318ti (m42 engine), and thinking to swap to an m52b28 (single or dual vanos best?) maybe getting your manual helps. | | | 04-11-2013, 08:28 PM | #148 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2013 Location: Malta Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m Good question.
