Hi guys, I recently purchased a Red 1995 318ti Base Model automatic, and the only way I could enter the car is through the trunk.
Symptoms are:
-Trunk locks and unlocks
-From the outside I can not even turn the key to unlock or lock the doors on the drivers or passengers side
-From the inside, when I pull the door handle on the passenger and drivers side the knob that moves up and down when locked or unlocked moves but the door will not open.
-When pulling on the door handle on the outside, nothing happens and the knob does not move or down.
Its pretty frustrating. I don't know what to do. Because its both the passenger and drivers side, I have a suspicion it has to do with some type of electrical malfunction but I thought these doors were designed in the event of an electrical failure to the central locking you could manually open the door.
The doors act as if they have a child safety lock.
