Default Color Code issue??

What is the color code for the JET black color on BMW's? Is it the same color as what u get in spray paint/acrylic/and other types. I mean JET black is a pretty common color right? I want to paint my plastic bumper myself. Insurance paid me 2500 and the front clip was about 700 total with wheel wells, molding, air ducts, ect... SOOOooo I want to save money and do it myself. Any good types of paint? Places? help is much appreciated?

Well your color code is in your engine compartment on the drivers side strut. It says the color and the code i beleive and if your came with a warranty manul it will be listed in there if the dealer put it in.

Hope that helps a little,i don't recall off the top of my head what black is called on bmw's. Oh wait one sec.

Ok i have a 1997 318ti brochure from dealer ship and it's cosmos black paint code #303 for a metalic color & standard color is jet black #668.. I'm not positive it's the same with every year but am assuming it is. Check under your hood for the exact one.

Thanks 4 da help everyone. I called Tropical Autobody in Anahein Ca. Morris, the owner and close personal friend, told me the paint is 70 dollars. Then i asked him the price for him to paint it. HE SAID 70 BUCKS! So tomorrow I am getting the front of the ti painted to match.
B.T.W. I reccomend his shop to EVERYONE ~ pm me and i will call him 4-u. He has always done my familys repairs. He is a dealer certified detailing agecy. (This is what insurance companies call his shop when there is an accident with a new, undriven, and unowned dealer car). This is a shop that repairs so that there never was any damage. And he ALWAYS stands by his work for the life of the vehicle with a written guarentee! Im so pleased with his shop tho...

If anyone has a splash guard for a 97 m3 or knows fitment I W.T.B. it!
p.s. All of the new parts were only 700 dollars! Insurance gave me 2500!
thanks Adam

Schwartz II is actually Jet Black 2 b.t.w. As told by Morris at Tropical
"Sparkles" I believe is called "Metallic" or "Cosmo" i.e. cosmo schwartz; silbermetallic (silver)

Schwartz II has a clear coat on it. Schwartz has no clear coat. Different paint with and without clear by the way, not the same paint where they just add a clear on top.

Model year decided when to make the change. I think it was prior to 1995, so all tis should be Schwartz II, but I may be wrong on that (my car is red).
