Talking Group Buy: Mason Engineering 318ti Front Strut Brace!!!

The Bars are ready!!! The Group Buy is on!!!

These are the best bars ever made for our beloved 318ti’s without a doubt!!!

These new E36/5 318ti front bars work with the stock air boxes and should easily work with most any aftermarket CAI’s . They clear the stock intakes which is the stumbling block of most of the 6-cyl bars fitting our cars. They clear the battery box and allow for + height batteries as well. They are very similar in layout and construction to the Rouge Engineering RaceBrace made for 6-cyl E36’s as John designed and manufactures the RaceBrace for Rogue and these new bars give our beloved ti’s the same benefits over the average strut brace. They are very rigid and very light in weight, they are custom fit for our beloved ti’s and are tig welded and superbly made as it is recognized that John makes some of the very best bars in the business and has loads of real world race fabrication and engineering experience. These are very high quality and light pieces.

Carbon Steel weighs 5 lbs. with Raven Black Satin Powder Coat

Aluminum Alloy weighs 2.5lbs with Scotch Brite Brushed finish

Here is the deal:

Minimum for a group buy is a total of 6 or more bars in one go for these prices:

Steel: $250.00 - $25.00 = $225.00 + $28.00 shipping = $253.00 total

Aluminum: $285.00 - $29.00 = $256.00 + $28.00 shipping = $284.00 total

These prices are a minimum 10% off the normal sale price and include a small shipping discount to the USA and Canada only, so John is offering us a nice deal!!!

All funds are to be sent to me either as cashiers check or money order made out for the total price listed above for your choice of materials along with your shipping addresses and phone numbers and e-mail addresses. I will keep you all posted and once a total of 6 bars are ordered I will forward all funds to Mason Engineering and he will immediately ship them to the address you provide. If a personal check is sent I will have to cash it and it may cause a delay in shipping and PayPal will impose fees that I will not cover so please send cashiers check or money order.

Place your orders and send your funds now!!!

Do you think he can send you some pictures of them fitted on a ti?

Also I was curious if this will fit a ti with a 6 cyl (m5x, s5x), so that when I do my swap I could just keep this?

There are some photos of the rough prototype in the related thread in the suspension forum "Possible new Strut Brace Group buy!!!" I am expecting the first production steel bar as soon as it comes back from the powder coater and as soon as I get it I will photo it and get them up here. First unmounted and as soon as I can, mounted.

I can't swear it will fit the 6-cyl engine swaps but I think it might. If not you likely could sell it for close to the original price and get one of John's 6-cyl bars.

That was my Dad's term for my Mum as financial coordinator LOL!!! It is all good.

One question, are you one of the five who answered yes to the poll about interest in the buy?

Thanks,
Dave

Yep, er, uh, yes!

On Shipping: We know that it will cost more than our mainland 318TI brothers and expect to pay more, as usual for Hawaii folks. . .

That is how it has been offerd by Mason Engineering and he has commented many times in my other thread "Possible new Strut Brace Group buy!!!" while prototyping the bar and he is a known producer of such bars. He has asked that it be handled this way to allow the discount and that is how I am doing it. He has a website where he sells his products and this bar will be available there as well for full price and shipping cost, so all I can say is after checking out the thread that you decide and if your not comfortable with the group buy buy it yourself at full price.

Thanks,
Dave

Do we need duplicate threads for the same thing? I think that group buy message is posted in like 4 or 5 threads now. It's cool that you are doing a group buy, but we don't need it posted so much.

My appologies, as soon as I am sure all who showed interest in the original thread have gotten the new info and have placed their orders or declined I will close that thread. The one in suspension and this in for sale I plan to leave open.

Thanks,
Dave

Mav,
Payment should be sent to you Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks!!!

O/T: My car requires towing tonight as it decided to protest the snarl of Lunalilo Freeway (H1) rush hour traffic and develop a coolant problem by way of massive leak somewhere behind the engine. My wife and I had other ideas for a flash as we thought to sell the 318TI and buy new! But reality kicked in and we will keep the car. . .

the leak is probably the plastic coolant fitting on the back of the head, hopefully you stopped the car in time before you blew the headgasket
