I've been reading about these cars for a few days after I found a 97 318ti for sale at a small dealership that has a lot of Nice and hard to find BMW's, plus other rare cars. It's got the California canvas top, 5 speed. I'm guessing it's the optional aqua metallic paint by the looks of it. It has M3 rims on it(staggered) and it has 115k on it. It says it's a rare m package. They are asking 6500. It looks good from the pics. Would this be a good deal? I'm guessing I can talk them down a little due to the economy and whatnot. I'm gonna try to take a trip to check it out prob next weekend. I gotta get a couple opinions from the pro's. lol thanks in advance! | | | 02-04-2009, 11:10 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | well, it may be an M-tech package, but I sure would call them "rare", maybe talk them down to around $5500 or so, where were the pics? do you have a link to the ad for it? it does sound pretty nice | | | 02-04-2009, 11:25 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: SC Posts: 10 | I well I'm on my phone now. Wheels can be changed after I get one but I wanna find a manual with that top, oh and what's the difference in the rear bumpers? what about this one? they are asking more but I dunno http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false | | | 02-05-2009, 07:16 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | this is the sport bumper, that one is waaaay overpriced, possibly because the PO spent so much money painting all the trim which, IMO, looks like crap, that one has also been for sale for an extremely long time for some reason | | | 02-05-2009, 09:04 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: SC Posts: 10 | well I like the one with the cali top better anyways. I can't find any more of them for sale. I'm debating on getting a ti or a 99-02 3 series... | | | 02-08-2009, 10:53 PM | #9 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Provo Ut Posts: 3 | 1995 BMW 318ti I am new to 318ti i have heard good and bad, something about a head gasket problem and automatic trans.
