All of the screw holes and brackets lined up with out any modification. Any competent DIYer can install easily. Shipping was quicker than I expected. The Bumper is not BMW and is made in Taiwan but it is made out of polyurethane and the fit is exact. The bumper uses most of the factory hardware so when popping out the pins on the fasteners for the bumper don’t push too hard and lose them and buy the M3 brake airducts because the stock ones will not fit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._BIN_Stores_IT | | | 05-15-2006, 02:20 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: No Where Posts: 297 | I was thinking of buying this bumper myself. I glad to hear that everything went ok with the install. I would say the product is a close 2nd in quality to the factory bumper cover but it doesn't say bmw on the label. | | | 05-15-2006, 06:53 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Marin County & Santa Cruz Posts: 116 | I just bought a new BMW M3 bumper kit off ebay from bavarian automotive for $340 shipped, a steal if you ask me. I was recently in a front end collision, so I'll be posting pictures of preping & painting it and the nose panel as well as installing them. Can't wait to end this semster and go home this week! | | | 05-15-2006, 11:36 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Ft Lauderdale, Fl moving to Eastern PA in May of 2007 Posts: 326 | I replaced my nose panel a couple of weeks ago with the 97+ kit from bavauto.com and it was a little more time consuming than the bumper cover but a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I would suggest installing both at the same time. The nose panel will be a much easier install with the bumper cover off due to it is easier to retrieve the screws that get dropped. | | | 05-15-2006, 11:42 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Marin County & Santa Cruz Posts: 116 | lol, yeah I plan on doing both the same day. I was podering the option of going with a 97+ nose and grille, but my car is a 96, and I think those noses are getting more and more rare, I hardly see them anymore. Even though the 97+ have a more robust grille I think the 96 has a nice agressive but subtle look that doesnt protrude out over the bumper as much. It makes the front look a little more boxy, which I like, so I stuck with the 96. | | | 05-16-2006, 12:18 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 45 | hey importfan.com has a m3 bumper do you think that quality is any good? | | | 05-16-2006, 12:24 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Ft Lauderdale, Fl moving to Eastern PA in May of 2007 Posts: 326 | I posted some pics of the M3 style bumper I installed. It is not painted yet and I might just mask it off the front end and primer it but the whole car is getting paint after this year's hurricane season. The paint held up good but it is a 1995 and I would like to see the red paint glow again. | | | 05-16-2006, 12:28 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Posts: 45 | dont paint it.just tell every1 it came stock like that since it matchs the side skirts hahaha jk looks good cant wait till its painted | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
