Mine has a production date of 10/98. Biggest differences are the 3 spoke M wheel and side air bags. All are sport models. Interesting side note: my '99 cali top has one-touch open, my '96 does not. Love that. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 03-28-2007, 05:18 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I was doing some digging, and found this out. All imported "1999" models are really calender year "1998" models. My car is a 07/1998 model, but 10/1998 thru 12/1998 are called 1999 models. There weren't any cars imported after 12/1998. I may start a thread for '99's asking for production date and last VIN digits. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 03-28-2007, 08:37 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Chicago, IL USA Posts: 58 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali There were approximately 500 Ti's brought to the US for 1999. Can you take a picture of the door panels, where the air bag deploys from? Look inside your door near where the lock is, there is a panel with the build date on it.
