Default Latest Event

I compete in the NWOR SCCA in GS.

The first event of the season I was pretty pissed at the car, but after this past weekend figured out it was 50/50 car/driver.

I'm running stock suspension and street tire, which when up against a Cooper S with stiffer shocks and R-compounds I've been getting CREAMED.

This past weekend he got me by about 4 seconds. I was within 2 seconds of a 318i running DSP (Bilsteins and Hoosiers) and 5 1/2 behind a M3 with the same setup as the i.

Not too bad if you ask me. Hopefully before the next event (20 days) I'll have either R-comps or the Tokico shocks in - just depends how cash flow goes.

Has anyone else noticed that G-Stock is getting SUPER competitive in their region? We've got almost as many cars in GS as they do in the S classes!

i dont race scca but cooper s's are usually a little quicker than us.

last event i raced the s was about 2 seconds faster but there were also other ones out there that i was beating.

the one faster has some suspension goodies and a few other things.

id be getting the suspension updated ASAP if it were me.

Gaurenteed with a nice billy/H&R setup or equivalant will put you right up there with the cooper-S if not faster.

To stay stock class I can't run springs - shocks, sway bar, and R compound tires.

Shocks are desperately needed as mine are 10 years old with 95k. Considering I can now run adjustable shocks, I'm leaning towards Tokico Illuminas. (Don't want a stiff-as-hell suspension when I'm driving the car for daily use.)

Next up a set of new stickies.

Should make for a faster AutoX car. . .

No Illuminas.... Go at least Koni SAs... Trust me on that one. Much better shock for racing and the ride is very reasonable when turned to soft.
