Hey I have a 318ti 97 m44 with 166000 mi on it and I'm looking for more power out of it. I am unsure weather to do an engine swap or a supercharger kit. Downing Atlanta makes a really nice supercharger kit you can find for about 1500 used. I think the motor can take it and I would rebuild the top end and put lower compression pistons in it so I wouldn't have to intercool it. But that would hurt the mpg more than a 325 or 328 swap. However the motor swap would be more expensive and labor demanding. What do you think, would I have to swap the tranny with the motor and how do you think the price mpg power and sound will compare. |
