I've had my suspension sitting in my room for almost 6 months and after a couple months i said to myself do i really want to drop my car 1 1/4 inches? If i did do that i'd have to take my car to a shop just to do the oil change since i have a rock driveway it's tough to get a jack under there as is. I want to buy a new set of sport springs kind of like the ones that come in a sport ti. Just cause it would lower the car maybee 1/4-1/2 inch which would be great for me. I'd prefer local pickup if anyone is interested in them. I'll part them for $200 plus shipping. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-07-2006, 11:17 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Ridgefield,CT Posts: 62 | I just installed the same springs on my clubsport 2 months ago. Plus like i said b4 if i drop it there is no way i can jack up my car to get underneath, not on my driveway. The last time i jacked my car up i had to shovel all the gravel out of one spot to get the jack under. I'm looking to get a brand new set of springs just casue i want everything spanking new. Thanks for the offer though. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-11-2006, 03:13 PM | #4 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | Can you tell me exactly what bav part you are selling?? I live on Long Island, and I just installed the BavAuto springs and Bilsteins. My front lower lip is already too low; I messed it up already hitting a low curb. However, I did just pickup a very nice jack, but it must be used from the side of the car to clear my body kit. I have a suspension off of a Z3 2.8 coupe on my car. It lowered my car (from the stock, active height) roughly .25 - .5 inches. | | | 06-27-2006, 02:35 PM | #7 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | How many miles are on them? __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-27-2006, 02:53 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Milwaukee Posts: 236 | They had 12000 when I installed them, and I've put about 3000 on them. I installed the struts/shocks off of the Z3 coupe with them, and the ride is VERY nice. See my sig picture for ride height. I'm in no hurry, so just let me know what you think. The biggest challenge will be that one of us will be without a car for a few days while the sprints are shipped back and forth! | | | 06-27-2006, 02:55 PM | #9 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Are these springs a sport type spring? I may have access to a set of them, but they're in a pile of about 20 sets of e36 springs and I don't know which one is which. I would like a set for my wife's car. | | | 06-27-2006, 04:26 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Milwaukee Posts: 236 | From what I can tell, based on owning a '98 sport in the past and my brother's recent '96 sport, the standard 2.8 coupe setup is really close to the ti sport setup. The rear shocks were a little different in the width of the bottom bushing, but otherwise everything bolted right up. Like I said, it dropped it between a quarter and half inch. I took off shocks and springs with close to 95,000 miles on them, so the improvement was immediate and noticeable. I am happy with them, but I installed them as a stop-gap because I got them for a good price and my original struts and shocks were worn out. They have paint markings on them, there are pictures of both the shocks and springs in my gallery, including close ups of the shock and strut part number stickers. | | | 06-27-2006, 04:31 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Asheville NC Posts: 669 | Quote: Originally Posted by IndianaTravis They have paint markings on them, there are pictures of both the shocks and springs in my gallery, including close ups of the shock and strut part number stickers. | that's just what I needed, thanks. I just bought N.O.S. shocks from a z3 guy and he had the springs as well. I'm going to contact him and see if I can get springs to go with. This is just what I want on the wife's car. I think the 2.3 and 2.5 engines (both 2.5 liters, but whatever) are heavier than the 2.8, so those springs might be different. | | | 06-27-2006, 04:59 PM | #14 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | We'll talk later tonight on this.. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 07-03-2006, 03:27 PM | #15 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Bump^ __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
