Default timing question, m44

I just pulled my head off and disassembled it to have it cleaned and checked because the previous owner over heated it, when I reassemble it is there anything aside from # 1 being at TDC, first lobes pointing at each other, square ends being at 90° to the top of the head?

You should use the timing tools.
This post shows why you don't use the top surface on the square on the end of the cam.

Even with the tool I'd use a dial indicator to check the timing against the crank if the head has been machined.
