So, today on my way to work.....I was at a red light. Next thing I know I hear tires screaming and I look in my rear view...... ....I get hit by a damn subaru. She hit me so hard that there is no longer a right side to my M-tech rear bumper. There is no longer a tail light, there is no longer perfection in my car. She said that some car blew the light at the intersection and and she tried to avoid him......at my expense . She called the cops and I get hauled off to the hospital. Treated and released, I must now think of bigger and better things to come. I've decided to go with Rieger as far as exterior styling goes, (might as well do it on the insurance companies wallet), but in order for me to do that I must find a company (in the USA) that carries the Rieger rear bumper for our cars. So here I am in a neck brace asking for your help. I need to find this bumper soon so I can tell my body shop to order it. I cant go too long without my baby. Please tell me of any websites, phone numbers, and or ebay auctions I can look into so I can get this for my car. Any and all your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Juni | | | 08-30-2005, 04:27 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: MD/VA/DC Posts: 834 | | | | 08-30-2005, 01:10 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | sue! sue! sue! __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 08-30-2005, 03:54 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | glad to hear you're okay. personally, i'd wait a little bit on the insurance claim, since some of your medical injuries may not spring up for a bit. also, have the car looked over twice; people can easily miss parts that need repaired. | | | 08-30-2005, 06:51 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | Quote: Originally Posted by stormos sue! sue! sue! | +1 | | | 08-30-2005, 06:52 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: tailgating your slow ass Posts: 518 | Tell the laywer that you will never be the same again and you head really bad headaches all the time | | | 08-30-2005, 07:51 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: PA Posts: 822 | Quote: Originally Posted by myblueTI Tell the laywer that you will never be the same again and you head really bad headaches all the time | That is so American. | | | 08-30-2005, 07:51 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: PA Posts: 822 | Well I hope you are OK and you can get your car back on the road. | | | 09-06-2005, 11:32 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Malden, MA Posts: 672 | UPDATE So, I'm now back to work and still trying to work out all the kinks in this insurance claim.....but there is a problem. Since the car isn't registered under my name they are now using the excuse that they shouldnt be held liable for the damage; seeing as to how I was supposed to be driving anyway. So me a my father talked it over and got a ruthless ass lawyer and today we followed suit and sued their ass for $70,000 (damages & mental suffering). We are also going to sue the ladie that hit me for some other reason yet to be decided by my lawyer. So as of now the car sits in a tow yard collecting dust and rust until this is all over. But now that I'm going to have a huge lump of cash fall in my lap.........I find myself having to re-asess what my plans if any for ///Mti. I'll keep you posted. (and where is the woman from?) | | | 09-07-2005, 01:48 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Malden, MA Posts: 672 | Im from MA, and so is the woman. Im not listed as a driver on the policy.......but then again they cant prove that i'm a habitual user of the car. In either case I dont even have the same address as my parents because I moved out some time ago. It all seems to be in my favor but they still wanna act like asses. The funny part about this is.....is that the woman that hit me has the same car insurance company. | | | 09-07-2005, 02:44 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | Quote: Originally Posted by Juni Im not listed as a driver on the policy....... | Then how can you claim anyway? no offense, but if i was them i'd sue you for trying to claim against a policy you are not covered under. It also states that in MA you can lend your vehicle to whomever you please even if they aren't on the insurance policy so long as they do not live in the same household and or are not habitual users of the vehicle. And even so, regardless about weather im covered or not, the car should always be covered because we have collision, vandalism and theft insurance. Hence they dont really have a case here, so I'm assuming that they will try to settle out of court some time in the next couple of weeks. | | | 09-07-2005, 05:00 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | that first law is the same here, BUT if the other party provides evidence backing them up as the innocent party it can be turned...... collision, vandalism and theft..... THIS usally means only on the named drivers contained wherein the policy. I consider America a ridiculous world of LAW, i could crack a tooth on a McD's chip and get $1,000,000. pretty stupid if you ask me. __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | cheap mufflers? | tiFreak | Exhausts | 36 | 09-26-2009 10:44 PM | Universal Mufflers | NoahChamberlain | Exhausts | 15 | 02-09-2005 07:40 PM | Mufflers | 2ndBimmer | Exhausts | 2 | 08-13-2004 02:05 AM | |
