Exclamation Car doesnt want to turn on

So, where should I start. My Hatchy is a 99 and the guy that i bought it from had it sitting for awhile before selling it to me.

I have a manual transmission. The car has battery juice and all, but recently it's not wanting to startup for me. I have to Push the car and pop the clutch in order to get it turning.
Im thinking its the clutch start switch.http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325...3710/ES168162/
Or
Maybe the starter.

Anyone have an experience/suggestions?

It would be a good idea to have the battery fully tested at your nearest auto parts. Assure it holds enough charge for the crank not just lights. Next, is check the starter, do you hear it turn at all? is there any spin? It's obviously not the fuel pump since you're able to push start it, and this would probably also eliminate the clutch problem.

I'm thinking that the battery is not good.

I tested the battery and it is in great working condition...

Im going to test the switch and hopefully this is it because I am dredding to have to pull out that starter.

So we bridged the clutch start switch and still no starting. So most likely, since bimmer starters are notorious to fail. I'm going to have to replace it.
Thanks 3.2ti for the help
