So my 96 ti is an auto right now, but i have a zf tranny out of a 97 M3 will this tranny bolt up to an M44 engine with no problems? | | | 04-09-2011, 03:42 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | the transmission will bolt up, the driveshaft is going to be where your problem is, if I'm not mistaken those have a 6-bolt flange on the transmission where the ti has a 4-bolt flange, I don't remember if you can swap flanges or not though | | | 04-09-2011, 03:45 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | yeah it will be the problem.. if im not wrong you get the front end of the m3 shaft and the back end of the Ti and put it together | | | 04-09-2011, 04:36 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | it will work. you will have to have the front piece of the drive shaft from the M3 or 328 and connect it to the rear ti shaft. i didn't have any fitment issues when i did this. make sure you have the other necessary parts to finish the swap. if you have issues for the wiring hit us up __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! You would hv to get a medium case diff from an E30, E28, or E24 6cyl diff. You can also a Z3 diff as well. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! Look it up by using the search tools. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
