All you need is a intake tube off the m50 an maybe a different silicone adapter, 3" is the stock maf size. or you can do this DIY if your crafty http://www.e36-tech.com/forum/diy-cu...ield-2317.html Imma end up doing this diy soon (when money comes in) | | | 05-09-2011, 05:07 PM | #35 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I personally have to wonder what people drive through to hydrolock their cars? I have only ever seen one car hydrolock.. and that was when a friend of mine drove through what amounted to a lake on the road after a freak rainstorm dropped a foot of rain in an hour. | | | 05-10-2011, 08:18 AM | #36 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | You mean like it has across most of the east coast about 8 times just this year? LOL We regularly get deep water out here in oregon in the winter. Espcially since there's plenty of evidence that there is no benefit really to a CAI on the TI.. Without a lot of other work to exploit one. The 95's REALLY don't need one... Have it stock... My civic went through enough water to FLOAT it and I didn't hydrolock it...lol __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-16-2011, 02:16 AM | #38 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I guess living here at the shore I get somewhat spoiled. Major storms usually run off so fast they do not leave any major puddles behind. The only time we get flooding is when the ocean comes inland.. and when that happens.. you simply don't go anywhere because everything is flooded | | | 06-16-2011, 03:51 AM | #39 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I personally know of 3 people who have hydrolocked their motors with CAI's installed on their ti's. 2 of them were right here in sunny SoCal. Not worth it IMO. | | | 06-19-2011, 03:48 PM | #40 | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: Albuquerque, NM Posts: 9 | air intake Hydro locked my 91' 318is M42 in 4-5" of water when living in Houston. BMW aerodynamics work great at shoving water up to headlight level. Bent two connecting rods, ruined the main bearings and wasted four months of my life arguing with the insurance company. It eventually got rebuilt, shop bill was $10.5k. | | | 06-19-2011, 04:32 PM | #41 | Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: monterey, ca Posts: 35 | i disagree with the idea that a N.A. 4 cylinders can't sound cool. fact is, they can sound great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlMZ_v7rJs8 | | | 06-19-2011, 10:36 PM | #42 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: Riverside ,So-Cal Posts: 725 | Quote: Originally Posted by slade13 is any one using the intake that slow-ti first posted about on their ti's? | I have one just like it but it's from Cosomo Racing __________________ EURO FRESH | | | 06-28-2011, 02:02 PM | #43 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | Quote: Originally Posted by Tom D | a worked 4 cylinder will always sound angry | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
