Default clutch question

Hey,
I know theres been a lot of forums on this but i want some real legit advice ....im going to change my clutch out soon...maybe in 10k miles or when summer starts(gonna drive more then) It really is slipping more and more each time i drive. One day i wont have a problem and the next it'll slip. My unk(mechanic) says the clutch is fine but i drive it more and i know its getting weak its a lot weaker than when i bought it about 2k miles ago(first manual car) it still has grip but when it gets too hot it slips......now i know i can bleed them for more friction but i want to drive it till it wears down to get a new one ....any good ones u know of?? i want something that can have quick revs and i know the single ones r good ....i found this one pretty cheap any =http://rep.racepages.com/parts/racep...howdc=true#top

I have the same issue. Sometimes, I'll floor it and the engine will rev without increasing in speed for a split second. What do you guys recommend I replace the clutch with. I don't want to spend much money, but I want it to last and be reliable. What's a full list of what I need for the best option. I'm not looking to track my car, just daily driver and maybe a few autocross sessions a year. I was thinking M3 clutch, but didn't know what else is necessary.

Is flywheel replacement necessary? I would prefer to keep costs as low as possible (sub 200 if possible).

im thinking the same way as you. My clutch is ok for now but again when i floor it i have a lag it doesnt pick up revs that well any more. I dont launch because i dont want to mess up the clutch even more. So same with you i want to pay no more than 200 for a reliable but ok clutch.

Hypothetically, if I got this, what else would I need?

pnosker,
if your dropping the tranny, it will be expensive either way... unless your meaning sub-$200 for just the parts...

there could be more to it, Ive only slightly looked into it as ill be venturing into changing out my clutch soon due to a failing release bearing...
but change the throwout/release bearing while your in there, and look into a pilot bearing if one doesn't come with your clutch kit.

http://www.carcare.org/Manual_Transm...tch_disc.shtml ... good read on the workings of a manual tranny and the main wear parts if you navigate the links on the right.

as for that SACHS ebay clutch/flywheel.. it says its useable for all E36 basically, incl. M3... I was under the impression if you put an M3 clutch in there you would have to upgrade the master/slave cylinder... can anyone tell me whats up with that?
