Default Side strip removal & painting: advice required!

Hi All!

Have just got myself a 2002 318TI Compact in Silver and want to colour coordinate my current black plastic side strips, front strip and rear bumper strip, making them Silver. I can't seem to find a detailed guide as to how to remove the strips, and then paint them myself (I am happy using rattle can paint in exchange for increased ease of task!).

Has anyone had any experience removing these strips and/or painting them yourself? Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

you can gently pry them out with a little pressure. I removed mine ok . the side trim on my 97 were held in with some plastic clips that are pressed into rubber grommets in the body panels. not sure about the bumper trims though but should be similar i would guess
