Default Hey! Buying a 318ti Err, Thinking!

Hey! Im 15yrs old, and I been thinking of buying a car, came across a 318ti and fell in love with it! =D plus then found this community and such and it just wants to make me own a 318ti even more!

Currently, I found this one http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...2555&cardist=0

for a 95, its good millage but just one pic, which makes me wonder, called the person and he picked up and responded, just with my luck I know the car wont be as described when I get there :P

But, with that put-aside, what are main aspects I should look for? I know I should run a CarFax to see if it has been salvaged/rebuilt. But, on physical inspection what should I look for? I know this is a "TeH UlTRA NeWBZ" Question, but I would like some idea's on this car itself, since each car is different and has different wear and tear per part!

Well, thanks in ahead! also, it would be awesome if one of yas can Instant message me!

Also, Quick question-

I found out in 95 ti's these were the most common issues

1995 M42 1.8L engine

* Clubsport
* Base
* Active
* Sport

What excatly are these, and what can I do to check these? Also, easy fix or not?

Clubsport - only 1995 model. Has sport suspension, trim, etc.
Base - has stock suspension, no OBC, etc.
Active - stock suspension, OBC, etc.
Sport - non 1995 models, like clubsport.

Active packages seem to be the most common...

If your 15 check the insurance rates before you buy...

The m42 is a great engine. only the very early models had issues with some top end gaskets. You can tell date of manufacture on the tag in the driver door sil.

Search the forum youll find th ecommon issues,
Window mechanism in doors is weak, rear shock mounts,
Profile/cam cover gasket on very early models, Power sterering needs maintenance a little more often than some cars (Fluid change.

Good Luck!
