Make it look weird. How was the installation? Did it have instructions with it? I assume the quality is decent, my old e36 had those same fogs but with the stock harness. __________________ 1997 318ti Schwarz II FB | | | 02-28-2008, 02:32 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Yea i have a base model too, I hated the look of no fog lights so i just decided to put them on. Yea there's instructions but they aren't specific to the Ti. Well there's a picture that helps but it isn't the Ti dash. But it's easy it took me a couple of days because i didn't know what i was doing. But if you do get them I can help you out. | | | 02-28-2008, 03:25 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: New Jersey Posts: 65 | Actually I'm looking for the factory stuff, the ones on ebay look aftermarket. At one time I think BavAuto had the kit. Not big on ganking the original wiring this almost always leads to problems. Might consider elchicano318ti's setup, to me it just looks horrible without fogs | | | 02-28-2008, 03:27 AM | #8 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: New Jersey Posts: 65 | negative the wiring | | | 02-28-2008, 03:33 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Waco/Austin, TX Posts: 233 | Quote: Originally Posted by kcosh Actually I'm looking for the factory stuff, the ones on ebay look aftermarket. You ahve to search under another car though, doesnt show up under ti. I found it under 1997 328i in the fog light section. __________________ 1997 318ti Schwarz II FB | | | 02-28-2008, 03:35 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Yea that's why it took me so long to install my fogs, i wanted to make sure i didn't want my wiring to mess anything up. So far its still good, knock on wood. If you just want the wiring i think you can find it too and just go with the stock fogs. IMO i didn't like the stock so i went with the smoked fogs. | | | 02-28-2008, 03:38 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Waco/Austin, TX Posts: 233 | Yeah the bavauto kit is a little pricey for me. The ebay kit is a much nicer price. The fogs it comes with ARE pretty ugly but i can get over it. Better than the holes in my bumpers. __________________ 1997 318ti Schwarz II FB | | | 02-28-2008, 03:42 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | If you don't want the fogs then just buy the harness, but you can always tint spray them and I think it will kinda look like mine. Just go to my gallery you'll see my set up of the fogs, i think i have a pic in there with out them. | | | 02-28-2008, 03:43 AM | #13 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: New Jersey Posts: 65 | Is the harness for the 328 the same as the ti's, also, does it come with the switch and relay? | | | 02-28-2008, 03:45 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | yea i believe so like i said my wiring came with a diagram not specific to the Ti. Yea mine did but its always better to make sure with the seller. | | | 02-28-2008, 06:26 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | A relay is a relay. The fog switch for the ti factory fogs is specific, but a switch is a switch (I'm using one similar to the ebay for driving lights). Really, the "harness" is just a bunch of color-coded wires and a few connectors. You should be able to find a generic wiring diagram somewhere on the internet (hint: Hella released one some time ago). __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
