I have a 1995 318ti 165000 miles and Never had a problem with the manual transmission shifted smooth and has original clutch in it (no power to burn clutch out). I don't see something breaking unless owner does not change the fluid. I do all fluid changes every year brakes diff and transmission. Oil every 3000miles for the TI or 3 months and for the M5 I own, it ends up being every 600 to 1500mile (annually or sometimes spring and fall). I now american e34 M5's have 2nd 3rd gear grind or hard to shift it to. That is common but never heard any problems with TI's. I even had 2 1991 E30 318i with a M42 and it did not have any tranny problems it had well over 200000 miles on them. Two of my freinds with tis also have no tranny problems. So this issue must be a very minimal issue. | | | 09-11-2008, 01:21 AM | #15 | Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: CT Posts: 32 | sold | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
