Can anyone tell me how hard it would be to fix this type of damage? I am seeing the radiator support is pretty cheap and the bumper looks untouched. I haven't been under the hood of a ti for a long time and don't remember how the front end is put together. I am really looking to get another 318ti and trade my maxima for it as I sold my old one that was wrecked and miss it. My pops is pretty knowledgeable about fixing wrecked cars so I might pick this one up. How much do you think it is worth? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...76902391#v4-34 | | | 04-01-2011, 09:58 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Ann Arbor, MI Posts: 150 | That is going to need quite a bit of work. At minimum, it will need a new hood, nose panel, radiator, radiator support. Probably also needs an ac condenser, coolant fittings, pulleys, belts, and more. Also consider that at 170,000 miles, it probably needs a lot of regular service. | | | 04-01-2011, 10:01 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: New York Posts: 45 | How much do you think it is worth? The parts seem cheap even on rockauto for some reason. Is the radiator support welded in or bolted in? | | | 04-01-2011, 10:06 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Ann Arbor, MI Posts: 150 | The radiator support is bolted in. I also forgot a new fan...probably needs that too. I don't think it's worth more than $700 or so, but it's hard to tell what's all wrong with it. It could very well have engine damage, or damage to the alternator, p/s pump, etc. It would be cool if you could find another totaled 318 with the rear all smashed :P. Then you could just piece them together. | | | 04-01-2011, 10:14 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: New York Posts: 45 | I emailed him to get a pic with the hood open. I told him its probably worth $500. If the pulley system isn't damaged it shouldn't be too hard to fix since everything will bolt in. The big question is if the title is clear. I am awaiting his response and better pics. | | | 04-11-2011, 11:01 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Did anything ever come of this? __________________ | | | 04-12-2011, 02:49 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: New York Posts: 45 | He took the ad down 2 days after I emailed him and never responded to me. He did have the car on craigslist as well so I am guessing it sold there. I offered him $500 sight unseen. Worth a try for all those that are interested. http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/2288319668.html __________________ (00=[][]=00) _______________ ________ Steve Still looking for a monthy driver 1988 M3 parked 1967 2000cs parked | | | 04-24-2011, 03:03 AM | #11 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Erie, Michigan USA Posts: 46 | I looked at ebay ad and itsaid "ended, price $1250 | | | 04-24-2011, 04:11 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 255 | ^That is because it was a "classified ad listing" and the ad has ended, it was not an "auction" or a "buy it now" listing. The price the seller was asking was $1250.00. It does not mean that it was sold at that price, but most likely it did. __________________ (00=[][]=00) _______________ ________ Steve Still looking for a monthy driver 1988 M3 parked 1967 2000cs parked | | | 04-24-2011, 04:17 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: nj Posts: 1,099 | anyone got it? i emailed the guy a couple times but no reply __________________ 318ti MZK2 | | | 05-10-2011, 09:43 AM | #14 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Shelby Posts: 1 | my good post!
