Default UUC Brake Lines

Does anyone know why the UUC website says their E36 SS lines are not for the 318ti? Is it a length issue or something else?

I am going to be upgrading to calipers for vented discs, same diameter disc. Would that matter at all in this case?

Guess I'll give them a call in the morning to see what's up.

Front are the same but rear are different. I believe rear are the same as an e30
There are lots of companies making them for the ti
MAKE SURE THEY ARE DOT or TUV approved.
Some companies make them but are more for show. You dont want the fittings to break when you really need them

Call UUC and they will send you a set of their brake lines that will fit your car. I'm running them on mine.

Called UUC. The lady on the phone said "we don't offer a kit for the ti...".

Emailed Understeer.com - no reponse yet.

According to Understeer.com's site
6-line kits fit:

3-series 1992-1999 E36 - M3, 328, 325, 318 (includes ti)
3-series 1987-1992 E30 - 325, 318
M5 1988
M6 1987-1989

These are made by UUC
Sounds like the person you talked to should read their catalog a little more often

For those of you who have not tried stainless lines, they are GREAT. Really give you more control and a firmer pedal. They will be one of my next purchases

I installed this set, it has 6 lines. Two for the front, four in the rear.

It has been awhile since I needed to get anything from UUC, but I would usually deal with Arjun. He sold me my UUC brake kit that included their SS brake line kit.

Question

How easy was the install ? I did it on my WRX and that was pretty easy but seeing that the Bimmer has 6-lines, sounds like more work ?
TIA

I thought it was very easy. A bit messy, but pretty easy. The front lines are pretty simple. In the rear on the Ti I was able to change all 4 lines by just jacking up the car and removing the tires. I did not have to take anything else off of the car but in some cases it was a tight squeeze working on the two inner lines.

If you are doing the lines I'd also do the clutch line at the same time if you have a manual.

I told Rob that they should change their site over a year ago. They simply assumed that the 318ti rear lines were different due to the E30 rear. However, if you check the part numbers, all E36s use the same rear lines. They're still saying that their flywheels only fit 6-cylinder models too, which also isn't accurate.
