if you can weld then you could cut out a plate and weld it in the grind down the welds and sand down to a smooth finish then repaint.

or maybe find a simple little black plug(gromet) that pops into it

i was thinking about it a while back because i have never used the rear wiper and also its just a random added weight to the car i never use.

save a few pounds and give the rear a cleaner look.

I actually use my rear wiper almost every time it rains. I find it most useful because it helps me see better out of my rear window. I may only need to flick it on once to remove the water that has built up and then not use it while I am driving. I always look for one when I drive other cars cuz i want to wipe off the rain on their rear window. But I agree that it would give the car a cleaner look and drop a few pounds. I just like to use mine on certain occasions. Plus anyone who wants to lose weight should just lose some pounds themselves and save your car the extra pounds before you drive get in and drive. lol

My rear wiper failed, I dissembled it and found the motor was completely rusted up. After finding out how much a replacement would be I removed it.

I had a spare rubber plug about the correct size lying around the garage.

+1, I think the back end would be much cleaner without the wiper, I hardly use mine anyways
