Default FS: 1995 Dinan 318ti Boston Green $2000 Price Drop!

For Sale: BMW 1995 318ti with Dinan modifications $2,000 PRICE DROP!!!

225,000 miles. Vin #WBACG5327SAM50323, Boston Green

Sold by Nick Loveikis: 310-500-6425, nikolai.loveikis@gmail.com

After eight years with this beloved car I finally broke down and got a new one. I was hesitant to let it go and was a two car owner for six months, but it’s become impractical and I have to sell. This car was very well cared for and I have all the records going back to 1999.

The second owner of this car spent $4000 on Dinan modifications which made a great car really outstanding. It’s a fun drive and honestly might be the best handling car I’ve ever driven (tighter than my parent’s e46 328i.) If you are unaware of Dinan, they are the premier American tuner of BMW’s, and the only one approved by BMW’s warranty.

The modifications include a chip which increases the horsepower of the car when driven aggressively and conserves fuel when driven conservatively. The Dinan exhaust also adds horsepower, as well as a deep exhaust note and a sporty appearance. The Dinan springs lower the car, stiffen the ride and together with the Bilstein sport shocks dramatically improve handling on turns.

Great things about this car:
-Dinan modifications
-in dash CD player with Ipod connection in the glovebox
-JBL rear speakers (an improvement over stock)
-Yokohama S-Sport Tires, very deep tread, had first scheduled rotation at 225,000 miles. A very comfortable tire with a great sporty look
-16” 5 spoke sport wheels with stemless valves. In great shape considering their age.
-clear front corners and side markers. I have the originals if you want them.
-I have a total of three keys, one of them is practically unused.

Recently replaced parts include:
-alternator at 222,844 miles
-radiator at 215,490 miles
-battery at 215,400 miles
-driver’s side window regulator arm and guide rails at 215,486 miles
-front brake pads and rotors at 214,000 miles. Rotors were upgrade to Bavarian Autosport slotted rotors.
-rear shock mounts at 213,000 miles
-front springs (Dinan) at 211,445 miles
-air boot and thermostat at 210,884 miles
-catalytic converter and oxygen sensors at 201,917 miles
-rear brake pads and rotors at 200,787 (still have some life in the pads)
-flex disc and transmission mounts at 200,787 miles
-ignition tumbler at 195,737

The downsides of this car:
-The clutch is pretty worn and needs to be replaced. It is totally drivable right now but can’t tolerate any aggressive shifting. I bought a new M3 F1 stage 2 clutch with a lightweight flywheel which I’m planning on putting into my other ti. The clutch in that car is in excellent condition and I would be happy to give it to you free of charge when I do this. Alternatively if you would like I will sell you the brand new clutch for $500, just a hair less than what I paid for it.
-Like all older car it has oil leaks. I recommend checking and topping off the oil weekly.
-The radiator is new and the car has no coolant leaks but I noticed after driving the car 340 miles up the coast and back that the level was low. It hasn’t been burning off any coolant over the past six months (I have been driving it regularly) but I nevertheless recommend checking the coolant weekly as well, and particularly after long drives.
-The sunroof does not work. I replaced one of the lifters (the broken one was causing the sunroof to rattle.) I fixed the problem but then the sunroof wouldn’t work anymore. I think there is an alignment issue with the cable but I never looked into fixing it again.
-The AC does not work. It has a severe leak which my mechanic wasn’t able to trace in the engine bay. I replaced the compressor not too long ago hoping it might fix the problem but it didn’t. If you decide to fix it, and least the compressor is new.
-The heat does not work. I don’t know why, I never looked into it. I do not believe it is the heater core though.
-The car cannot be unlocked from the passenger side as someone broke the outside of the lock. It still locks and unlocks, but only from the driver’s door and trunk.
-The ignition tumbler was replaced and a by-product of that is that the chime that alerts you to your keys being in the ignition or the headlights being on doesn’t work properly. What it did after that point was chime any time the door was open regardless of whether or not the key was in the ignition. I found this annoying so I disconnected it. The downside is that it’s easy to forget to turn off your lights if you drive with them on during the day the way I do. I’m happy to reconnect it for you if you like.
-It’s an old car and covered with numerous chips, scratches and dings. That being said, I still get compliments on how good it looks for its age when it’s clean. The clear coat on the top of the rear bumper is peeling off pretty bad. I was planning on solving this by sticking an adhesive bumper guard onto it.
-2 minor things are that it needs new windshield wipers and one of the hatch struts should be replaced.

In short:
I bought a second ti because I loved this car so much. I’ve owned them for 8 years and can solidly recommend them. I’ve learned a lot about them along the way and I’m happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks for your interest.
