Cross-member has been gutted and dropped too low....needs to go back to the fabricator so the engine doesnt drag on the road setback.....Diff guys could do nothing with the stock diff.....purchased a stock 4.10 lsd rx7 diff and am going to figure out a way to mount it then deal with the half shafts and all that nonsense......after this I need to find driveshaft that will fit, mount a custom radiator and inter-cooler, rework the fuel system which includes replacing the stock gas tank and mounting an 8 gal cell where the spare used to sit.well over 4k into this project at this point, but its going to be worth it

the good news is i am almost finished collecting parts....i most recently bought the
1.rx7 4.10 torsen lsd
2. 17" style 39s
3. M3 front bumper
4. Angel eye projector headlights
5.5 series front struts(not sure if they work, but we shall see)to support the added weight
6.m3 mirrors
need to get rid of
1. stock diff
2. a set of offset e46 m3 wheels with brand new rear tires( i bought them on impulse before realizing the front spindles wont support the depth)
3. stock mirrors
4. stock engine
5. stock tranny
6.stock everything basically

anybody have a set of used coilovers?

Not to sound like a dick but there are a lot of things that i cant understand.

The lsd, you can use a bmw 188mm 4.10LSD from the e30 as well as the beefier halfshafts an not need to refabricate the rear subframe and subfloor. That would save you money.

Gas tank, why are you removing it for -6 gallons of fuel?

5-series struts....NOT NEEDED and dont work. Install a set of m3 or I6 struts and get a set of off the shelf springs that are rated higher than stock, or move over to a full coilover and corner weight the chassis for proper springs lbs.

Cooling system, whats wrong with the i6 or even the 4 cyl radiator?

LSD: Thanks, ive checked them out, decided to go with the diff that matched the motor...i guess ill pick up the 188, if it works i can sell the rx7 diff....probably worth the investment

Gas Tank: trying to move the weight back in the car to account for the new motor, also moving the battery

Struts: got em for a good price, figured it was worth a try, that and every set i have found cant seem to make up its mind whether it is from an M3 or a 318i

Cooling systems: Because of the rotaries ability to rev to 9k and the excess heat produced in the process, i figured it would be wise to upgrade to a 2 row with larger fan capacity

Coilovers......i want some, but i cant find them for the right price
thanks for the input/advice....i think ill go ahead and buy that 188

So the seller of the rx7 diff was nice enough to let me cancel my bid on the diff and i ordered a nice, clean looking e30 188mm 4.10 lsd for about 400 shipped, now to get the e30 halfshafts....thanks again, you saved me from the headache of trying to sell the diff before it was too late

Don't remove the gas tank if you moved the engine forward, its already in a good spot for weight distribution. The 188 will negate the face that you moved the engine. You need to also remember that you're installing a turbo, inter cooler, and larger cooling system, removing weight from the rear is not what you want.

Extra cooling capacity, you just need an aluminum 6 cylinder radiator and cooling fan. Most 600+ hp e36s use it on the track and with boost, not to mention most every ls or v8 swap. It's more than enough cooling capacity. You won't be sitting at 9k on a regular or constant basis to need anything extreme.

As far as struts go, part numbers are your friend, they tell you what they are.

400shipped is fairly expensive for a 410, 320-350 seems more of a feasible price. Have you thought of 3.73.

it was $325 before shipping....seemed fair
heres the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/330672780902...#ht_500wt_1287

as far as a radiator goes, i should be looking for something more along the lines of http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-99-BMW-E3...ht_4695wt_1270 and buy the shroud and fan to match then?

All aluminum is better. Buy an electric fan setup and wire it into the system.

will that unit sit on the same notches as the stock unit? i know its a bit bigger

as far as 3.73 goes, i am trying to get the OD on the wheels to match fairly closely....the stock rx7 is equipped with 16s and 50 height tires, if i run 17s with 45 heights i should be pretty close to perfect with the 4.10s by mazdas standards

I feel like this swap is not worth all of this custom work and fab.
