Default M42 motor parts

My motor blew a headgasket the other other day and I am just replacing it with a complete motor I found so I am letting this motor go. The head is off the car and the block will be pulled this week once I can get a free day to do it. So let me know what you guys need out of it. The head looks clean and I believe it was replaced last year by the looks of the cams and internal parts. I haven't checked to see if the head is warped but I am just going to assume it is. I would rather ship in sections or I can sell the cams and gears seperate from the head. No accessories will be sold as of yet until I see what is coming with the new motor. Let me know what your interested in and I will give you a price accordingly. I will ship to the lower 48, just take into a factor for weight on these parts.

To be honest with you I have no idea. The guy we bought it off of said the motor was replaced back in 2010. The motor sounded and ran strong prior to the headgasket letting loose. The story behind the car is the guy we bought it off had this motor put in and drove it. The guy who installed the motor replaced the water pump but the guy did not want the guy to replace the thermostat. I have no idea why. The car overheated on him and he shut it down and had it towed to a mom and pop shop where it sat for the past year before I bought it. I replaced the thermostat and did a coolant flush along with some other stuff. When I changed the oil there was no coolant in the oil and the oil looked great. I drove the car literally for about 50 miles and then the headgasket blew. Well it was 105 that day and I was running the ac. The fan never engaged causing the overheating. I parked it brought it to the shop the next day and started it up the next day and then the white smoke started. Right then and there is when I started tearing down the motor.

That being said, whats your zip code so I can get a good shipping quote for you. This will be the biggest expense in shipping the shortblock.

I went off of your avatar and did a shipping quote and shipping is right around 300 bucks. So would 500 shipped work for you?

I am gonna check on a couple other places tuesday so that price is subject to change for the cheaper. I am really only wanting 200 for the shortblock to pass on the deal I am getting. So most of the cost is going to be in shipping.

Oh definitely I understand that. I need to get it pulled and see how much the short block weighs. If it weighs under a hundred I think I can get away with UPS's it. On the other hand I dont want to go too cheap in shipping route and risk damaging the motor due to it being mishandled. I will let you know for sure once this holiday weekend is over. Not trying to get rich here lol.

Trust me I will do the best I can, I have had transactions in the past where I made a lot less than I wanted too after paypal fees and shipping, pretty much it would have been better off just keeping it lol. If nothing sells it will be going to a metal recycler haha, at least I will make a little bit and not lose my butt in shipping. Like I said not trying to make a mortgage payment here but at least be comensated for the work and time it takes to ship it off. Do you need the camshafts by chance? They look perfect and would even throw in a brand new timing chain and gears in the deal.

Probably do 120 shipped for the cams, gears and chain. I can get those shipped out on Tuesday actually.
