I am 44 and I recently bought a 1986 GSXR. It's pretty fast, and I am glad to have the experience of a seasoned rider. Injuries don't heal as fast or as well as they used to and I am now able to make smarter decisions. I still ride fast, but I have taken two rider safety courses, always wear gear and never drink when I ride. My friends and I order rounds of non-alcoholic beer. But, none of that will keep a cop from writing up a ticket for speeding. They are expensive, but these days so are concert tickets and football tickets, so what are ya gonna do. Now that I wrote this preachy note I'll probably break my leg mowing the lawn. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 09-13-2009, 02:55 PM | #497 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Maryland, USA Posts: 678 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx I'm 41 so how old before it get's out of my system??? | Reminds me of a joke: 15 year old kid was feeling guilty about touching himself so he finally went to his father for advice. Bad street racing is setup and people stand on the side of the road to watch. No safety at all and cars break or get out of control and next thing you know people are getting mowed over by a machine going close to 100mph. Death is the result If your going to street race just make sure if something happens the only people that can get hurt are you and the person your racing. I never race with spectators unless it's at the track and never if there are cars I can hit in my way. It's just common sense, ticket for racing is points down here. Kill someone by accident and it's minimum 25 years, unless your Nick Hogan then you only get 8 month since the guy is not in the ground but basically dead. You all know Tampa is the street racing capitol of the US... | | | 09-14-2009, 09:58 PM | #502 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx My dad is 78 and still has a relationship with Rosey Palmer and her 5 sisters | And you know... how? __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 09-15-2009, 11:54 AM | #503 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali And you know... how? | I bring him porn on each visit. The goal is to have a BMW DME 5.2 that has EWS-II, all normal functions of the BMW DME (A/C clutch, speedo, CEL, cruise control, etc.) and tuning ability on the fly (engine running) over Can-Bus communication of spark and fuel (any injector size) delivery changes via laptop. Shooting for a BMW hydrid DME for the M44 that I can tune for any injector/spark configuration, get excellent gas mileage & handle my GT-30/70 turbo while running like a BMW should. Seems like an easy project...Hope it is what all I think it will be when completed | | | 10-21-2009, 08:19 PM | #507 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Sounds awesome. The wife has it right now to pick up the son from Sylvan learning center. She said she needed an adrenaline rush so I handed her the keys and said "don't wreck it and no tickets". She's like "can I run the A/C"...I said "sure but don't while beating on it cause I don't think the compressor is made to do 1,000rpm to 8,000 in 1 second". She says "What?" I said " No A/C just keep the windows down and drived the $hit out of it" Hope she really enjoys herself so I can buy more parts | | | 10-21-2009, 11:45 PM | #510 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | You're a brave man giving the keys to your wife I think potentially your ti is one of the fastest, if not the fastest on this forum. I'm restricting mine to 14psi (450bhp) to keep the gearbox intact lols. Don't have any plans to run more as a daily driver. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
