Unhappy Another one bites the dust...

Unfortunately, another TI bites the dust.

My son came out from studying to find his car missing from the front of his house. I had him check to see if was stolen or towed.

In talking to a neighbor, he discovered that our 97 Slicktop was actually backed into twice while it was parked on a hill in San Francisco. It was rammed into by an elderly lady in a 2012 Buick Lacross so hard, it left her rear bumper imbedded in the TI's drivers fender. She rotated the car 90 degrees into the street. It eventually was towed to an impound lot as it was blocking the street.

I suspect it won't rub out. The good thing is no one was hurt.

We lucked out as the impacts were captured by a neighbor's home security cam and we have video and pictures of the car. Basically a hit and run with a $600 tow as well.

This was a 1997 M Sport Slicktop I renewed and set up for my son. It will be towed back to Sacramento to part out to serve other cars. He just took this car to AutoX with me late July where it performed quite well.

I'll pull the engine/drivetrain, coilovers, suspension braces, M exterior and interior parts, doors, HIDS, Roundels, stereo and wheels.

The engine runs strong, as I recently renewed it and will keep it as a spare for my track car. The coilovers/camber plates will make it over to the 97 Z3. All other parts will be available for pickup for larger parts.

I hate parting out TI's, I'd rather renew them to get back on the road...
