This weekend will be a good test of my driving skill and how the ti stacks up against STX competition. I'll be running with Philly SCCA and there will be 6 BRZ/FRS', a GTI and a Civic SI in my class. I hope to finish somewhere mid-pack.
Haha! I remember and wondered! Good man.... Enjoy yourself!

Very happy with today's results. 7/11 in class and 51/109 in pax. Definitely no BRZ/FRS competitor, but it is no slouch. I'm sure I could get .5 sec out of my car but not me yet. Maybe if I ran 225's I'd be faster too, but I got plenty of tread left on my Star Specs. Videos to come.
Edit: I'm a doofus that doesn't know how to work technology. No sound in the videos, but this is my fastest run.
Not bad and also... my goodness those BRZ's are fast.

This run was good for 31/74 in pax and 3/4 in STX. You can hear the car bouncing off the limiter on a few straights. I wasn't brave nor skilled enough to do multiple shifts on this course though.

50 degree weather + rain + 500 treadwear all-seasons = FUN Placed 7/11 in STX. Lost to 2 well prepped E36s, a well prepped FRS and a Prelude.
Run 4 was my fastest raw time. Run 5 was .5 seconds faster but dirty. I could have gotten another second out of the car had I been more careful, but I just wanted to have fun.
I really want a E36 sedan now and get rid of my ti. Could use the 2 extra doors and the power.

That seems like some good work for a minimally prepped ti? Seems especially fun on that wet ground
Do you actually use the two other doors? and the power is nice but why not just m52 swap? best of both worlds and it should be easy to pick up a 328 cheap as a donor - but of course that is a lot of work.

I think I did well compared to the other drivers. The cars I lost to still had Z2s, RS3s, etc. on their cars and didn't look anywhere as bad as me with 60hp more to their wheels.
I want an E36 sedan for the following reasons in no particular order:
Still a contender in STX
POWAAAH
Looks better than the Ti
Convenience when driving friends around. Most of them are over 6ft and crawling into the back sucks.
Better gearing for highway and autocross
I don't know if it would financially smart to get rid of my Ti for a sedan though. I probably couldn't get the $5500 I want for it. I also want to throw a LSD in the Ti, but still want to get rid of it too. Tough decisions...

Definitely a touch choice, that LSD will make your ti rotate nicely though, IMO that is a must.
As for power... well ya lol I often want more power but since its my daily and I look at gas prices and my 28mpg, thats including a nice canyon run I hesitate. I don't think I want to pay for that 24mpg's. Besides the ti is more tossible.
Then look up the ti model and compare it to a e36 sedan, it has all the details so you can look up shoulder/head/leg room next to each other. My favorite site to look up car stuff and compare models.

Besides the ti is more tossible, and at least for mine I know exactly where it is, I don't have to worry about the vanos unit, I don't have to worry about clutch fan exploding, and I also don't have to worry about my rear subframe, also the interior is simpler too.
