My alternator has no mounting point for the second pulley, over come that little prob by using an alternator bolt from a m47 diesel engine, works a treat! although the belt tensions a little tighter may have to drill a new hole to relocate the dasc idler to the left slightly, will post some pics soon. Main prob at the mo is the lack of the extra long throttle cable Does anyone no the bmw part no for this cable? The cars my daily driver so i need to order the cable tomorrow. Many thanks guys. The RHD throttle cable works fine with the DASC. It will go across the engine bay as seen in this old pic of my car ( http://www.2saintly.com/g/v/my318ti/..._023.jpg.html). Options for that are a new cable from a E30 SOHC engine (the longest BMW cable that i know of) OR you can make/get made a custom cable. My car is also a daily driver and i haven't gotten arround to changing the cable yet. __________________ Ian '97 Ti Sport DASC, TT S2, B&M SSk, x-brace, H&R coil overs & sway bars, Big brakes | | | 02-27-2007, 12:10 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Whitstable, England Posts: 41 | Hi, on my alternator there's no spare bolt hole for the additional pulley but all seems ok with the m47 bolt. Yesterday i did the same with the cable just draped it across the engine same as you. I'll look into the e30 cable, thought about the e34 518 cable maybe. Do you no any of the guys at sydney BMW? __________________ Live life and live it sideways unless you've got a 318 with ASC then just tun it of wohooo | | | 02-27-2007, 12:16 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 90 | the cable accross the top is the DA install method and works fine. i only want a longer cable to make it look better. zip tie a bit of leftover hose arround the throttle cable to protect it where it rests on the head cover. I have more than likely meet them before. I am the editor for the BMW club of NSW and we have a number of meetings there in the year. I also deal with them for advertising in the magazine. __________________ Ian '97 Ti Sport DASC, TT S2, B&M SSk, x-brace, H&R coil overs & sway bars, Big brakes | | | 02-27-2007, 12:24 AM | #6 | Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Whitstable, England Posts: 41 | Just like this then lol.
