Default Question with Shocks I bought

I just bought a pair of Bilstien Sports shocks for my 96 TI these:

They don't fit through the strut bearings...anyone know why? Second, I have a 325I donor car for a swap with bilstien lowering springs...will the rear springs fit my ti?

Are you sure it is the correct shock for the ti? Post up the Bilstein part number on them.

Rear springs from the 325i won't work on the ti rear.

Yeah I used sports from a 323is on my Ti and had no problems at all.
With the sports shorter suspension stroke I would imagine it would be hard to mount with stock springs.

won't be harder to mount, just need a spring compressor. Sounds like he is having problems getting the top of the strut into the bearing hat.

why don't you upgrade to different hats? I am putting m3 hats on my car along with m3 struts and drop links

are you sure? I know bluebimma put non-ti E36 springs in the back of his car and they fit, obviously the rates are wrong but that's not going to cause serious problems
