I have had the TI bug Bite....Picking up a 97' in about 2 hours...Looking forward to building this car..... ...Looking forward to your suggestions on the build..Hope I can be of some help here down the line...I have some custom paint and body experience along with machining. Haven't built anything in a while but the shop is still functioning. Time to hide in the garage and stay out of the "warden's" vision....If you know what mean. Look forward to learning from all of you... My Warden advocates my vices.....for now. Get the maintenance up to par first is my suggestion. | | | 02-10-2012, 03:14 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Looks nice and clean! __________________ No more ti. | | | 02-10-2012, 03:30 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: South Central, MN Posts: 1,065 | Very Clean! These little crisises are fun! Since I had to give up my latest ti project to my wayward son at my wife's behest -I sold his last car when he came home from college with a failing grade. I'm looking for another ti now to keep me busy. | | | 02-10-2012, 08:36 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Welcome Grampa T. So whatever you want to do to your ti, this forum should have it. Know what you mean about the warden. Mine tells me that since this tax return is going to the Ti, next years goes to her kitchen! | | | 02-11-2012, 04:32 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Congrats and welcome!! M-tech....Yeah your right ....gotta find out where she stands right now. From all first impressions shes in pretty good shape. I am very impressed with the handling and the mid range power this thing wants to give back for a four cylinder....Holds the rails nice at 65+ in serptine stretches. I can see why you guys love this car. Pretty much straight forward basic sporty....Alot of potential avenues.....This is going to be fun...Here a few picks more on the way..... | | | 02-13-2012, 12:52 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Quote: Originally Posted by campione These little crisises are fun! Nothing serious: -Lost cruise control -Developed a slight leak in the tranny, seems like it is just a drain plug.. -Blew fuse #39 for the brake lights ( gave me a really wierd lighting issue) -Had a hell of a time removing wheels..and lugs -threw a pre-cat sensor light -Shifting has become less than smooth in the linkage. related to leak? -Brake caliper hanging up alittle... -Cooling system has after market clamps and hoses look new. Hoping to get some information from previous owners service center/dealer. Posted some pics in my album..can't seem to get them to post here.even after re-sizing..All replacemnt parts arrived today..Busting knuckles this weekend..Decided to stay OEM for now ( complete front end ,struts, ball joints etc..brakes,rotors etc..o2 sensor...),get some payback this summer on gas and do major upgrades this winter... | | | 04-14-2012, 09:09 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Chicago Posts: 172 | Some BS pics..Hope to get this back on the road this weekend..
