I don't think that's doable. I think I'm using the driveshaft from a 2.8L Z3. I'll confirm the details later when I speak to my mechanic later today for you.

So buy a 4 bolt driveshaft from an m3 manual or auto and what year? And use the rear section of the TI right?

What exactly is not compatable? Is it too long? Bolt pattern too big? Many people have successfully used M3 front sections with ti rear sections due to the ZF manual tranny being about 1.5" longer than the getrag. The ZF also uses a larger flex disc and the M3 driveshaft has a larger bolt pattern. I know my M3 front section bolts up to my ZF because I removed them from the same car. I took my ti shaft apart and the M3 front section slid right onto the 318ti rear section splines. Did your ZF tranny come with a flex disc?

no my tranny didnt came with no flex disc but i order a new one for the m3 and they send me an m3 6 bolt driveshaft so maybe this is why it doesnt work, cuz when i took both driveshaft apart the 2 half would be both males so yeah they dont match

Shoot Jean, my driveshaft is buried under a shelf behind all of my wheels and tires. I was able to look at the tranny and flex disc though. It's 3 bolt, so that means the front section of my M3 driveshaft is 3 bolt. I remember the rear section was 4 bolt just like the ti's rear section. Some of the later model M3's and MZ3's came with 6 bolt rear sections. That's probably what you have.

Yep. The front section of the driveshaft needs a female spline to work with the 318ti's rear section w/male spline. You don't need to buy a whole drive shaft, just try to find someone that will sell you the front section. Bf.c has tons of part-outs. I'm sure there's an older 328 or M3 being parted. It might even fit in one of those triangular flat rate boxes that the post office has. If you find one, offer them about 40 bucks, 50 shipped for it and see if they'll throw in the front bolts. If you haven't done so already, you should replace the center support bearing too as they tend to wear out. Also, after you install the driveshaft, if you notice any vibration at all, you should take it to an automotive machine shop and have them balance the driveshaft. It'll only cost about 20-30 bucks.

I have one of these shafts, 4-bolt for your Diff complete shaft for a getrag and med case. new from this place. Killer shaft. I run a ZF so this new shaft is in my garage. What does it fit?

okay ordering the m3 driveshaft next week and the scavenger oil pump so i can finally drive the car, and start working on the other bugs and stuff.

had to stop today thanks to metal on my eye while grinding the tranny to make room for the downpipe, i was wearing my safety glasses but somehow metal still got on my eye so had to go to the eye doctor to get it removed
