Steering wheel on the 98 model (3 vs 4 spokes)

Hi,

I spoted a 1998 318ti (m44) here in Brazil for sale, BUT it has the 3 spokes steering wheel.. The owner claims that it's original, but I have only seem 4 spoked on the 98's around here..
any tips?? is it possible for a 98 to come with a 3 spoked steering wheel (with airbag btw).

Different countries spec their cars differently.
In the US the 3 spoker was on the 99 only.

Wierd.. all the 95 here have this same 3 spoker and the 96 to 98 all are 4 spoker.. that's the only one i have seem with 3

That is not the typical 3 spoke wheel I have seen.
The 3 spoker I've seen is an ///M Steering wheel.

the 1998 goes from R$28k to R$32k (U$12k-14k)

so the 3 spoke version that you guys have there is different?? all the 95 here have this same wheel..

EURO sport wheel..non US market thing..prices on ebay can range from 200-450 now for those, since they are smaller and cleaner than the M wheels.

A few of the US members have them on their cars, but they were added on in place of the stock 4 spoke.
