After you remove your sunroof there are 4 studs that are perfect to mount the carbon piece on. They even have wing nuts on them. Drill the holes add a big washer on each for mounting the carbon sunroof. Use any good sealant to waterproof the sunroof. I used fish tank silcone. Run a thick bead in the crease around the complete sunroof and mount in place witht the 4 wing nuts. All done. Mine has been in for about 2 years with no leaks or issues. | | | 07-11-2010, 05:47 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Santa Maria, CA Posts: 277 | man that would look sick on mine considering how much carbon is already on it. so this replaces the heavy metal junk and its motor? how much and where do you get it? __________________ -1996 318TI ACTIVE PACKAGE (ALPINE WEISS): 75-0MPH IN 3 ROLLS AND AN END TO END FLIP.Mods: Complete M3 Body Kit, Carbon Fiber Side Mirrors, Carbon Fiber GTR Hood, Carbon Fiber Hatch, Carbon Fiber Sunroof Panel, Blacked Out Ambers and Taillights, 17' TSW Nagaro Rims, European Front License Plate, Sripped Out Interior, NRG Deep Dish Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Ball, Pioneer Avic N2 Stereo (Navigation/Bluetooth/CD), Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake, Passenger Airbag Delete, Rear Wiper Delete, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Projector Fog Lights, manual windows -1996 318TI CALIFORNIA EDITION (SCHWARZ ZWEI): BACK IN BLACK!Current Mods: European Front License Plate, Rear Wiper Delete, Bosch Miata Battery, Blacked Out Ambers, 17" Contours (non-staggered), Kenwood Stereo (Bluetooth/USB/CD), City Lights, Corner Running Light Delete, Rear Taillight Mod (//M style brake light), Passport 9500xi Radar Detector (Hardwired), Laguna Seca Decal, Stripped Out Interior, Debaffled Airbox, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Fog Light Delete, M3 front bumper w/ lip, Sparco Hood Pins, Sparco Trunk Springs, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Knob, Rokkor Coilovers, Magnaflow Muffler (11225) Whats Coming Next: NRG Steering wheel, Corbeau Forza Seats and Sliders (X2), NRG Race Style Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, UUC Clutch Stop,, M3 Side Moldings, Manual Window regulators | | | 07-11-2010, 06:08 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Ebay $250. Removes a lot of weight from the highest spot in the car. One of the best weight reduction mods. Chad's carbon pieces are high quality. I got mine for half price with a little blemish but I never found the issue Chad said was there. Chad is great to work with. Nobody is driving off they will have to tow it. Inside they will need some time to take out the electronics. If I do catch someone messing with my car I will confront them with a 18 1/4" 12-gauge with 00 Magnums. I do have good 32fps color and night video that loops about every 4 months so I have 4 months of video for all the cameras. They shoot all the time at 10fps then when there is motion detected they jump to 32fps. I dread the day I walk out and some of my stuff is missing Man I hate a theif | | | 07-13-2010, 02:58 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Santa Maria, CA Posts: 277 | wow John that is a little intense. I had a low rider truck a long time ago and got hit hard...2 ~ 15" Earthquake subs, Kenwood CD head unit, 2 ~ Rockford Fosgate amps 150W both bridged 1ohm, 1 ~ Sherwood amp multi-channel 600W, Tokarev pistol with the following caliber barrels fitted for the gun 9mm, 38 special and 7.62 including clips in a case, thick rope gold necklace. Found out who did it about 2 weeks later, never recovered anything. With this car I don't leave anything of value in the car and if I do I park it in a safe spot if possible. There is no way to drive off with it unless you steal my keys for EWS and know something else about starting it. I post up some pictures of my carbon sunroof so a member can see what it looks like and now the thread has gone off course about "How easy it would be" You all are responsible for any nightmares I have tonight. Ok? and I have to be up @ 4:30 to catch a flight to Huntville, AL. My evening flight was canceled due to weather in Atlanta. I'm going to have my wife drive me to the airport tomorrow morning so the car can stay home under surveillance while I'm out of town. | | | 07-13-2010, 03:57 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Santa Maria, CA Posts: 277 | Hey johnboy, do you have pictures of your carbon without the headliner? __________________ -1996 318TI ACTIVE PACKAGE (ALPINE WEISS): 75-0MPH IN 3 ROLLS AND AN END TO END FLIP.Mods: Complete M3 Body Kit, Carbon Fiber Side Mirrors, Carbon Fiber GTR Hood, Carbon Fiber Hatch, Carbon Fiber Sunroof Panel, Blacked Out Ambers and Taillights, 17' TSW Nagaro Rims, European Front License Plate, Sripped Out Interior, NRG Deep Dish Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Ball, Pioneer Avic N2 Stereo (Navigation/Bluetooth/CD), Cosmo Racing Cold Air Intake, Passenger Airbag Delete, Rear Wiper Delete, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Projector Fog Lights, manual windows -1996 318TI CALIFORNIA EDITION (SCHWARZ ZWEI): BACK IN BLACK!Current Mods: European Front License Plate, Rear Wiper Delete, Bosch Miata Battery, Blacked Out Ambers, 17" Contours (non-staggered), Kenwood Stereo (Bluetooth/USB/CD), City Lights, Corner Running Light Delete, Rear Taillight Mod (//M style brake light), Passport 9500xi Radar Detector (Hardwired), Laguna Seca Decal, Stripped Out Interior, Debaffled Airbox, Blacked Out Kidney Grills, Fog Light Delete, M3 front bumper w/ lip, Sparco Hood Pins, Sparco Trunk Springs, NRG Carbon Fiber Shift Knob, Rokkor Coilovers, Magnaflow Muffler (11225) Whats Coming Next: NRG Steering wheel, Corbeau Forza Seats and Sliders (X2), NRG Race Style Steering Wheel with MOMO Hub, UUC Clutch Stop,, M3 Side Moldings, Manual Window regulators | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
