the hose that is going to the flexi rubber thing connected to the throttle body is a breather or pcv. im not sure which it is on our cars, but it needs to be hooked up. that's how the engine vents the crankcase vapors. it sends them back through the intake to be burned. the new intake should have a port on it to hook the hose to, if it doesnt, you might need to make one. and its very important that it seals correctly at that port, as it will suck unfiltered air through it if it doesnt.

if the new intake does not have that port, and if its possible, see if you can use the stock rubber boot as a substitute for that part of the intake. if the new intake is in sections, that is what i would do.

That is the secondary air injection pump. Not all the cars had them, only ones that were intended to be sold in california or other emissions strict places. What I would do is get a small Crank case breather filter and put that on the secondary air injection pump and hook up the Cosmos filter. That way you won't have to mess up your new intake. I will see if I can find a picture to post of the little filter I am talking about.

i forgot about the air pumps on the obd2 ti's... if its for the air pump you can put a little filter on it. if its for the crankcase venting, you cant do that i believe. the difference is that the air pump sucks air from the airbox, it only needs a supply of filtered air. the crankcase vent actually sends air and vapors TO the intake to be burned.

so does the hose you are talking about hook directly to the airbox? or does it hook to a rubber flexible intake tube?

i got the intake and it doenst include a opening for that hose nor a little filter.
well that hose is coming from the throttle body and it is a rubbery hose and it is connected to the air box, it is right next to the regular air pipe that goes to intake manifold, that hose im talkin about is connected to a bigger round object, which i think it is throttle body.
that hose is made out of rubber, i know that.
thank you guys so much

I was thinking of also getting the Cosmo intake. Pictures would really help to describe which parts you are referring to.

ok today i bought a little air breather from pepboys, but the head piece of the breather was too small so i figured out that it might be too small for that pipe and didnt put the intake on, tomorrow imm gonna get a air brather with a bigger head piece i hope taht this time it will fit the pipe, tomorrow i will post again hopefully wiht results.
