Default Car is Shaking

My car, in this cold weather of the past few weeks (Maine), started to shake a little bit (steering wheel) and I felt a little vibration on the floor... when I would brake or accelerate... now it's gotten to the point where it's just flat out annoying... slowing down from 60 to 40 is the worst though... my dad told me it might be the calipers? I'm going to replace the pads at Midas this week so that solves the squeal... but any ideas? I'm trying to smooth out my ride... the steering wheel shake is a pain in the ass.

if it happens both during acceleration and braking i would rule out any braking components (temporarily at least).

could be simple alignment, a ball joint or wheel bearing.

Seems to be the common fix. Get your bushings/ball joints checked (on your control arms)... it's probably those. And for future reference, it's easier for your mechanic to do if you buy new control arms with the bushings attached.
