Default 95 ti wrecked - whole car not parts

SOLD

My son totaled the '95 and now that we found a '98, we have to do something with the old car. I don't have time or space to part it out so if someone wants to buy it and either use it or part it out themselves, let me know. I don't know what is fair so give me an offer. You will need to pick the car up. It runs and drives, but it is not in condition for you to drive it away. It will need to be towed at your expense. I am in CT.

Here are pics:

Here are the basics from the VIN:

Here is what I know. The car has over 180K (don't know the exact mileage, but was 181K last I checked about 3 months ago), but it ran well and passed CT emission in August '09. It has lots of small dents from the last owner before the accident. The interior is in reasonable shape with the driver's seat showing the most wear. I put a wheelskin cover on the steering wheel because the leather was worn and unsewn. It looked and functioned great with the wheelskin.

The previous owner fixed a lot of things. I have his shop repair bills. Here are the significant things:

alternator 1/12/08
a/c condersor 6/4/08 - not sure if it survived the accident
front pads, rotors and sensor 6/4/08 @168K miles
diff assm/used 8/22/08 - 171K miles
new tire 8/22/08
pipe and cat assm 8/05/08 @171K
o2 sensor 8/05/08
window regulator clips replaced 6/19/08 - windows worked smoothly for us.

He also changed the oil every 3K.

Carfax is clean and showed no issues from the previous 3 owners. My son's accident was a low speed collision with him rear ending an SUV. The ti's bumper went under theirs and the nose was pushed in.

What remained of the typical problems was the headliner falling and the airbag light remained lit for a least a minute or so after starting. I would have gladly put more money the car as necessary since it still looked good overall and seemed reasonably solid especially for a car its age.

Almost forgot, it has a clean title. It was not totaled by the insurance company, I did not have comp on the car so I determined it cost too much to repair. Hence, it is up to me to get rid of the car.

Let me know if you have questions. PM is best for initial contact.

It stinks how relatively minor incidents can total these cars. What prevents it from being driveable? What region of Connecticut is the car in?

To me, the hood is too damaged to drive. It is just not stable enough. Also, I can't open the hood to determine any damage to the engine; although, my mechanic thinks the nose was pushed back far enough to where it may be likely. Body estimate thought the fenders looked pulled together so felt it was less minor than it looks. I was surprised by that given the low mph collision, but that prevented me having it repaired. It did drive onto the wrecker and off, still starts, etc. so I think it is good for parts.

The car is at the shop in Hamden, CT.

Just look up from below, there is a LOT of space between the radiator and the engine.

Just pull the hood and drive it without for transport purposes assuming the radiator is OK and the Power Steering res. You have to get DEEP into the front of a E36 to hurt much else. I've put them back on track and finished races with more outer damage than that...

Just a thought...

Thanks. Of course, anyone is welcome to inspect it and determine what they think.
