Dove gray, in great condition with no rips. Also have the gearbox which is very clean. Located in Omaha Nebraska. These are obviously freight items, but I am making a trip to Chicago this weekend so if anyone between here and there is interested, I could arrange for delivery. Make an offer. | | | 02-23-2016, 06:18 PM | #2 | Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: IA Posts: 51 | Bump. Any pics? | | | 02-29-2016, 05:45 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: IA Posts: 51 | Sounds good. I'll get some pics in the next couple of days. In the meantime, you can check on shipping and let me know if you can get something lined up. The last time I shipped seats the buyer arranged a freight company to pick them up and it worked fine | | | 03-07-2016, 02:43 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Sep 2015 Location: Columbus, OH Posts: 91 | If the deal on the seats falls through, I may be interested. Are they cloth or leather? I really only need the driver's, as long as they are leather. I may take them all if they are cloth. Thanks __________________ salguod 2007 Toyota Prius Touring 2005 Mazda3 S 5 Door 1998 Ford Escort SE 1996 BMW 318ti 1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible | | | 03-07-2016, 03:18 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2015 Location: Concord, NC Posts: 19 | I'm going to pass on the seats, I haven't been able to get a affordable freight quote. | | | 03-07-2016, 03:24 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: IA Posts: 51 | Quote: Originally Posted by salguod If the deal on the seats falls through, I may be interested. Like I said, all of mine are good except the driver's. I might take the passenger too if the shipping isn't too bad. If you've got pics, please post them. Did you ship the seats on a pallet, did you make a crate or just ship them alone? I've never looked into this before, I assume I'll need a weight and some dimensions, right? __________________ salguod 2007 Toyota Prius Touring 2005 Mazda3 S 5 Door 1998 Ford Escort SE 1996 BMW 318ti 1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible | | | 03-07-2016, 06:07 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: IA Posts: 51 | Quote: Originally Posted by salguod Are you willing to split them up? Whereas getting rid of the whole thing for free is good for me because it clears up space, selling a seat individually would have to be a good financial deal for me to want to do it. You can PM me and make an offer and then I would be happy to get it ready for shipment for you. | | | 03-07-2016, 06:10 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Oct 2012 Location: IA Posts: 51 | Quote: Originally Posted by salguod Are you willing to split them up? So when it comes to getting a quote, just figure the 48 in.² of the pallet plus the height of the seat maybe 3 1/2 feet or so. I have no idea on weight, but I would say shoot high just so that you are covered. I would shoot high on weight – maybe 100 pounds, even though it'll probably only weighs 75 | | | 03-07-2016, 06:59 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Sep 2015 Location: Columbus, OH Posts: 91 | I did some research and found a lot of folks recommend boxing them, even if it means making a box. Several say separate the base from the back, put the two back sin a box and the two fronts in a box. Other wise, next them like Tetris. This post recommends simply shrink wrap them together and ship via Greyhound. That post is 6 years old an he says it cost him about $90 plus materials. I'm thinking using a pallet would be too costly. I'm not sure how much work you want to put into shipping free seats. I also need to make sure this is where I want to spend my money on the car. The driver's seat is bad, but it was low on my priority list. I'll do some more digging on the costs. __________________ salguod 2007 Toyota Prius Touring 2005 Mazda3 S 5 Door 1998 Ford Escort SE 1996 BMW 318ti 1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible | | | 03-08-2016, 04:03 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Check shipping Greyhound Express. Ketchup, can you post pics of the seats? Best guess is that it'll cost about $100-$125 to ship them Greyhound, depending on how much effort you're willing to put into getting them ready to ship. Again, I only need the fronts. I think if you're willing to separate the backs from the base and box them together and even take the base cushions off the mechanism (my mechanisms are fine) and box those together, the shipping cost will go down, under $100. Post some pics and let me know what you're willing to do.
