Default camber adjustment bolt

just read how to correct camber in the knowledgebase. Very good info there, but it didn't expand on the correction bolt. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this. Is there something special about that bolt (part# 07-11-9-900-587 M12x45) or can I use any M12x45 bolt?

just got the bilstien sports, getting ready to order bavauto springs and new mounting hardware. In 2 weeks my ti will handle a LOT better.

Thanks

I've not done anything to an e36 suspension before. On my e30 I had the H&R race springs and bilstiens and the camber was far off and wore my tires bad. The handling was excellent but ride quality suffered. On my e28 I bought the bavauto springs and bilstiens and that setup was perfect for me, truely the best of both worlds.

There's a list on here of things you should consider upgrading when you do the suspension, but all I'm going to do is the shock tower mounts front and rear. I'm hopeful that with my mild upgrade .5 degrees of camber correction will be enough, otherwise I may get a correction kit to fix it. Front and rear would be another $500, so that's a later upgrade.

Be sure you have spring compressers to do the front, the rear is pretty easy. Also to do the top shock bolt I have a 'custom' tool configuration to tighten it. I use a deep 1/2 drive socket on the nut with a small 1/4" socket with an extension through the 1/2" socket hooked to a rachet. I then use vise grips to hold the 1/2" drive socket... this was for both the e30 and e28, I'm assuming the e36 is the same...

Fernando,

If you're not tracking the car, I would recommend you to get H&R Sport springs. With the Race, thecamber is roughly between -2, -2.5Ί. For everyday use that's harsh and really eats away at the tires.

BTW, your Bilsteins should be around the corner (out for delivery).

Cheers,
