Question Feeler: 318Ti For sale soon, need opinions

I hit a mailbox. Damage to kick panel, door, and quater panel.

Pic is of the damage. I have many more if you guys want.

Car has new plugs, starter, foglights, and 02 sensor. (last 6 mo.) Tires are have 60% tread left. Stock save K@N drop in and 'Fogged'/de-baffeled airbox.

I'm currently looking for an M3.

This is funny current miles: (just checked) 123456 LOL!

What do you think shes worth?

That's gonna be a bit of a tough sell - it would have a salvage title, correct?

I found my M3!!! Got it off ebay. Won it last night, was more fun than gambling I'm a little nervous. Never bought a car I havent driven before........

As for the 318ti. If all I can get is 3k I might be better off fixing it myself then selling it locally.

It's a salvage title, paper work will be done next week.

You fellas think I could get 6k if it was repaired? So far bo is 3400, here locally. Havent tried too hard to sell so far. But will start now that I've got the new car.

I'm no expert on BMWs, but I am on the market (and in the area, even), and I certainly wouldn't pay 6K for a salvaged 318 with that many miles on it. When buying a car with a salvage title, you not only have to consider the condition of the car, but also the effect the salvage will have on resale value - and that effect is significant.

Of course, with all that said, I wouldn't pay $3k for the car in the condition it's in now, either, and it sounds like you've already found someone offering $3400. That would seem to imply that I don't know my market values very well, so have at it and more power to ya.

There's a fellow close to me selling this car:

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5202&aff=freep

He's asking $6500, and it doesn't say it in the ad, but that car has a salvage title (I pulled the Carfax). He's been trying to sell it for a while, though - he originally listed it a month or so ago for $7000, and I guess he didn't get any bites, so he's relisted at a slightly lower price. Personally, I think he's gonna have to go a lot lower, but who knows?

This struck me as strange. Got the M3 today. When I insured it alone full coverage it'd be 1100 for 6mo. By keeping the 318ti on with liablity only its 900 for 6mo. Due too the multi car discount.

Now maybe I'll keep the 318 and make into an auto-x car.

Or another Idea sell it, buy a **** car and insure it just for the discount.

You fellas heard of this type of thing?

Weird! I know that a multi-car discount is pretty common, but with most carriers it's 10%. Yours would have to be way higher than that to get those numbers. What company is that with?

Anyway, keeping it as an auto-x car sounds like the perfect solution, given the circumstances. I know that's what I'd do. BTW, as a side note, that M3 is awesome.

Progressive.

Thanks.

Could I just insure a car that sitting in a junk yard? I don't belive they do any verification besides ask the for the vin#.

After driving the m3 for a couple days I got right out of it and into the Ti. First impression is that its just a different car. Just normal cruising it felt different but not worse. BUT give it a little gas or run though a turn the Ti just feels like a toy.

I think the primary difference in feel is the wheels and tires/limited slip diff.

IE any wheel spin unsettles the car, poor composure.
So to autox it'd take more than I'd like to invest....Guess I'll have to sell it

I love the m3, worst thing is parallel parking. Those 18 and low profile tires (german f1's) = wheel scuffs and tire damage if you TOUCH any curb.

The m3 obviously has more power (mine has asa exhaust/intake). But after 4k on the tach the ti pulls good.
