Just a quick introduction. I recently picked up a 1995 318ti Sport for $1300. 187k on the odo. Runs very strong and clean. Needs a bunch of simple to medium fixes, but motor, drivetrain, suspension and body are in good shape. Amazingly, no leaks. I'm working through a list of fixes then off to get a dent out and a new bumper cover painted. While i'm new to Ti's, I've had a few BMWs and another M42 in my 318ic. I can see there is great input on this forum and where I can contribute, I will. Is that a cali roof? I didn't think they put them in till 96. Mine is a 1996. I have slightly dif wheels as well. What's the dif between active, sport, cali and any other pkgs? Should it say on the title what pkg is on it? My title oddly enough says '318ti automatic'. I'm with you on being new to a ti but know a little about a lot on car repair and maintance. | | | 03-10-2012, 09:50 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Welcome! __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. The sport looked just like the OPs car with sport interior and suspension. In 96 the clubsport and sport were merged into one model. I had the dealer pull up the options that came with the VIN and it listed it sold with M sport suspension, Sport seats, sport spokes, leather wheel, .... I have a 1995 brochure and it listed the "sport model with the same options as a package. Thanks for the welcome, either way, it'll be a fun car. I did just pick up the M3 bumper cover as a replacement as the current one has seen better days. | | | 03-11-2012, 07:45 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Quote: Originally Posted by ti cali ed This looks just like my car. My understanding for 95 is that the Active came with Cruise control, mini on-board computer , Leather steering wheel and shift knob, sunroof, sport alloy wheels, Remote entry and alarm system. Leather seats as an option. Exterior Metalic color options of blue, red, green or black. Sport came with the M suspension, Cloth and leather sport seats, Leather steering wheel and shift knob, sport alloy wheels, foglights exterior color in white, black or red. Sunroof was an option. I used a grinder to remove my broken ignition tumbler as the bobby pin method was just not working for me. The PO ripped the interior cards out as he did not have the plastic clips to secure the door. I found a pair at a pick n pull, however someone who wanted the vapor liner did the very same thing! Unfortunately, they also knifed out the front speakers out of the panel. I'm looking for intact panels, but in the mean time, I will repair these to make them work. I did luck out and found a donor 95 ti that had a VIN 60 or so off of mine, with the same options, so I was able to collect a bunch of renewal parts as I get this one back in shape.
