What I want to know is if anyone has had their interior upholstered and if so how much did you pay. I'm looking to do the entire car in black leather with a suede center on the seats. Has anybody priced this at all? The shop says the will charge $1,600.00. Does that sound fair? | | | 02-01-2006, 09:39 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | sounds fair to me. __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 02-02-2006, 02:25 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2004 Posts: 411 | yeah, it sounds fair | | | 02-02-2006, 03:21 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Checking the leather option on a new car is around that. Just make sure you know what kind of leather you're getting, and what constitutes the "entire car." Black & suede sounds pretty awesome. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 02-02-2006, 03:21 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | I went an talked to the again today now they wanted to raise the price. Does anybody know if the door panels were made in grey leather? I have to know so I can go to BMW and get some if they did make them. | | | 02-03-2006, 07:46 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: UK Posts: 312 | They made door cards & rear panels with leather inserts only, the whole panel was never covered in leather from the factory. | | | 02-03-2006, 10:57 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Iasi, Romania Posts: 101 | I am just curios as how hard is it to change the inserts on the panels from cloth to leather compared to a normal e36 considering that ours is a one piece panel and the insert doesn't come off by itself(form what I know). | | | 02-04-2006, 07:31 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Jamaica Posts: 62 | | | | 02-06-2006, 04:30 AM | #11 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | GDB on bf.c and i think he's a member here did the fron/rear panels on his ti. From what he told me they just popped right out with a little heat. I will be doing this interior mod to my ti in the spring. http://bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=468690 __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 02-07-2006, 07:45 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Jamaica Posts: 62 | It's recomended that you put the new insert over the old one. It looks better. | | | 03-16-2006, 06:34 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | what I did is that I made some inserts made out of fiberglass that perfectly fit over the insert on the door panel. I attached them to the door from the inside so you cant see any screws. I wrapped them in perfprated leather and now the look like the came from the factory. I'll post some pics tonight. I also finished the interior so I can post some pics of the whole interior. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
