On cold mornings the hatch tends to close by itself and can result in a nasty blow to the head ! Has anyone had the same problem and fitted struts off another car which are designed for heavier tailgates? Might be difficult to get in the UK though. | | | 01-25-2012, 11:31 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Would your struts lift and hold the hatch when they were new? | | | 01-25-2012, 11:36 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Roanoke, VA Posts: 472 | I got a set of heavy duty struts off of ebay made for the Ti and have not had a problem for about 2 years now. Just search for "318Ti hatch" or "318ti struts" and you should get lots of options. | | | 01-25-2012, 11:52 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Miami, FL Posts: 874 | i did the blazers struts on mine and they are awesome at first they would go up too fast so i slowed it down until stopped and well i added a spoiler and is just about right now __________________ Mods: 325is zender spoiler, 3" carbon fiber antenna, 5% tints rear windows, black out grills, Fogged air intake, Ds1 wheels, Rokkor coilovers, bilstein rear shocks, blacked out tails and home made angel eyes | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
