Figure in the ball park of $2400-$3200 for installing engine, trans, rear suspension and front suspension. This assumes the following: Engine is in good running order and complete with all accessories and wiring; if M3 transmission is used, M3 drive shaft is useable; M coupe/roadster rear suspension/diff is used; M3 front suspension is used; no wear parts (such as bushings) need replacing (cuz this adds more time!).

Labor is billed at a straight $40.00/hr, no OT charges unless deadlines are set unreasonabily.

Estimate two weeks from start to finish if all parts are on hand.

Newer models (with Driveaway Protection) may cause additional charges due to dealer involvement. The feature could be disabled, but I don't like to work like that...

Parts are the responsibility of the purchaser, however I will assist any way I can with that as well.

If anyone is looking for a eurospec motor let me know. I import then and I get real good prices on them. I just did a engine swap in my ti.

I hope you have a shroud for that radiator! Otherwise, it may run hot.

Pardon my ignorance but ... what are you guys talking about? Importing euro spec engine? Which one? an M3 engine? What type of gains are we talking about? Thanks. This is all very exciting. Glad to see I have a car for a LONG time.

actually I was thinking today while behind a Z28 on the road.

people have trouble wiring in a EuroSpec S50 as simple drop-in over a USDM S50.

My car is a Euro-Spec
would I have problems with a USDM M50 swap.

what makes your car a ES? the problem with a Euro spec s50 is the harness is right side oriented so it must be flip flopped.

My mechanic did my engine swap in one day. He took out my old motor installed the euro spec and start the car in one day. The wiring harness was not a problem and the motor came from a right side car. My engine bay looks stock. No wires are showing. I live in Jersey and my guy does all the fix up bimmers here. I believe his car will be on the cover of Performance BMW next month. He has a blue e30 wide body 600hp. Anyways I was reading some of the post and the prices for the motors were high. Let me know what you want and I can get m motors and anything else you want from europe.

I would join the BMW CCA and ask your local chapter members. They would be a good source. By now a lot of people have done conversions. Shops have been doing conversions for years. OBD-II involves a little more but it becoming very common.

or you could be like me and go ODB II to ODB I.

Which since we don't have emissions or inspections here in Florida I can prob get away with.

My car was brought new in Germany, where it was used in Germany from 1997 to 2002, then came to the states with the owner and I got it in late 2003 in Tennesse.
